[IMG] IIRC, Gretzky used to play with number 99 on his shirt. Hence the Gretzky/99 association.

[IMG] The colour is named after the fruit.

Orange (colour) was origanally called Yellow-Red (in medieval english it would have been geoluhread)

IIRC, Gretzky also ended his career in -99.

Next South Park and Prison Break episodes are airing next year, *sigh* the wait... oh well, atleast there's still DVDs and Family Guy.

Right. You have to remember that most of us outside of North America know next to nothing about Ice Hockey. I did go and see the San Jose Sharks play once though and got a free pizza because they won.

@Dalveen, I don't like Heroes and Scrubs. Forgot House though, awesome show.

@Harbs, Europeans, except the ones living in the yuppie countries like me, watch ice hockey too.

I went to my last-read post in RBP #98, was about to post something, then noticed the thread was locked. I had a moment of sheer panic, then realised it must have reached 500 posts and Beren started another one [sigh with relief]

Now I can't remember what I wanted to post about. Nothing important I'm sure.

I just noticed Dalveen is from Scotland

I really thought Gretzky was dead. Meh it just shows how I just don't give a **** about Hockey or sport in general.

Finished the English Paper! It's due tomorow, but it's done, so I've all my evening left to do...other stuff I guess.

Haven't been to this thread in a while, thought I'd put in my 2 cents on Gretzky -- he was not only a superlative hockey player but a genuinely decent, compassionate, friendly man. I know a lot of people who've met him (I'm an Edmontonian, after all) and I've never heard a single story of him acting like a pampered, arrogant athlete. He never talked trash like a lot of these moronic boxers. I wish he could have chosen a brighter wife, but we all can be fooled by a pretty face

It makes me so sad that so many Flemings think that English is the easiest language ever and everyone can learn it when really it is such a subtle and progressively hard language to truly master. The result is totally butchered Flenglish that is utterly depressing and very, very wrong.

IMO it's easy to get understood in english but hard to truly master it.

    Edit:

This is just too funny, someone sent me this on the intertubes it's hilarious
