1: Civ IV. It is the best of the series, and easily the most immersive.
2: Morrowind. No RPG has ever drawn me in like that one has.
3: Diablo II. Looks simple on the surface, but the replay value is off the hook.
4: Rise of Nations. Best RTS I've ever played.
5: Unreal Tournament. Adrenaline and competition and the best FPS I've Ever played.

Honourable mention: Ultima IV, Age of Empires II, HoMM III.

    1. Might And Magic 6. Kept me on my toes till the very end.
    2. Carmageddon 2. Killing people by ramming them full throttle with a car is so much fun.
    3. D2. I remember spending days playing it.
    4. D&D Warriors of The Eternal Sun. A freaking classic I STILL play.
    5. Phantasy Star 1 through 4.

Honorable mentions: Diablo1/Hellfire, Carmageddon 1, Might and Magic 7, Phantasmagoria 2.

Half Life (I'll just say the series)
    Medieval Total War 2
    Planescape Torment
    Baldurs Gate (Both)
    Age of Empires 2

    Any order.

Fallout 2 - post apocalyptic setting, plenty of humor... well, you all know the deal
Morrowind - great game with so much freedom and customisability through mods
Deus Ex - great story together with a very good mix between fps and rpg
Carmageddon 2 - mindless rampaging is fun!
Command & Conquer - I've put down the original because it has the most memorable FMVs of the entire series, even though I must admit I like the gameplay of Red Alert 2 more.

It is, for me at least, impossible to gather list of the top five, because there simply are too many great games out there. But, there is one game that would definitely be on that list, Subspace. It has been over 10 years now when I first played it and still going... all the way from the public betas. We used to play it in school after the classes were over for the day, good times :-).

There are a lot of classic games that would deserve to be on the list as well, like Bruce Lee on the Commodore 64. California Games on the Amstrad. Gravity Force 2 on the Amiga. Battletoads on NES. Super Mario World on the SNES. The Last Blade 2 on the Neo Geo. Final Fantasy VIII on the PC and so on... More modern games for the PC would include Bioware Infinity games plus Jade Empire, Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines and many others. So, as I said, impossible to make a list of the ultimate five. There simply are too many games which have had a big impact in some way.

There are so many good games, but I've chosen the ones with almost endless replay abilites.

1.BG - So much better than BG II
2.Tales of Symphonia (Game Cube) - Best RPG for any console ever made ever
3.Lylat Wars (Nintendo 64) - Oh the memorable quotes!
4.BG II - So much worse than BG, but that's AD&D's fault, the game is awesome
5.Heroes of Might and Magic III - Best RTS 'evar'?

From Wikipedia: "Big Rigs received universally negative reviews with the critics considering it to be one of the worst video games, if not the worst, ever."
Metacritic (Critics): 8/100... "This is hands-down, the worst videogame to ever see the light of day. Really." "...easily makes it into that dubiously extraordinary category of being one of the most atrocious games ever published." "It's an aboslute failure in all departments of what a game should be." "If you hate someone, and I mean HATE someone, give them this game as a gift..."

Seems like promising game there, Splunge. :p

    Planescape Torment
    Fallout 2
    Gabriel Knight
    Grim Fandango
    The Dig

Honorable mentions go to Star Control II, UFO Enemy Unknown, Jagged Alliance 2, Monkey Island 2, Civ II, Gabriel Knight 2&3, Baldur's Gate series, Ultima VII and probably many games I've forgotten. The list I made is not in any way absolute as my appreciation for certain titles fluctuate quite a bit. However Planescape Torment has been on the top since I completed it the first time.
