Ehh, well, ah, um, scoring a homerun in a waterbed, of course. That's how I found out I was prone to seasickness... Just thinking about makes me feel a bit queasy...

 Dfly, you should hang out in RRT a bit more.

Oh, yeah, I forgot... one thing why I dig my waterbed and have no intentions whatsoever to change it is the fact I can crank up the temperature during the winter, and always sleep in a warm bed. I'm sure BTA would agree to that.

Since I live in Southern California, it's more important to be cooler than warmer, so I don't even have a heater for the bed :)

Even though I live in the prairies in Canada is does get pretty darn hot in the summer sometimes. Often during those months I've wished that I had an unheated waterbed to get me comfortably through the nights. Sadly I have had to settle for getting up at 2:30am to have a quick cold shower so I can get back to sleep.

I used to have a waterbed when I was living in Southern California too, and I never had a heater for it either. In fact, since my old room didn't have an AC unit, I used to put re-usable ice packs all along the side of the bed to help keep me cool during the summer. I kind of miss it...my mom made me get rid of before we moved to Utah. :bad: :rolling:

Chalk up another foam convert. Mine's a Restonic, and it's awesome. I can't even sleep on a spring bed now. Plus, I'll never go back to a spring bed because they're so noisy when you're...like, um, doin' stuff. ;)

Same thing here. During the winter, crank up the heat. During summer, cool it down...

I have coined the expression in RRT#5, to be exact.

Eh, I was referring to the adjective you chose to describe the experience. Punny, so to speak. As it were. Ahem, ahem. ;)

Hmm, I wonder if, in my dotage as I am, such considerations should enter my own search for a new mattress? Just because it's not a recent problem doesn't mean it will never be a problem again . . .

Oh, yes, just can't help it, I guess.

Definately. You know things always happen when you least expect them to so keep that into consideration when you buy your mattress. If you don't take that into consideration then it will most certainly become an issue later ;).

Innerspring mattressn here, only 3 years old, so still quite comfy.
I HATE Sleep Number beds. I had to sleep in one when visiting my last ex, and I woke up with horrible backaches every morning.

I don't know.. it's just a mattress! A bit lumpy, so probably a spring one. I sleep in it, it's comfy, and I never want to leave it, that's enough for me.

    Spring for me.

While the one down here is, unfortunately, soft, the one up north is nice and solid. Exactly how a mattress should be.

Foam at home. On weekends I usually sleep on a spring bed which is comfier. Of course, the increased comfiness could be because of other factors than the mattress.
