That reminds me of the time my buddies and I had to carry my brother back home because he passed out of drunkeness. Normally that wouldn't be too bad... except he decided to punch a cop car with cops in it. Thankfully they shrugged it off...

i can remember some drunken adventures in my younger days.....actually, i remember being told about them. i don't actually remember the events to well. but it's been 13 1/2 years since i had a drink. after shooting 2 people ( even tho it was self defense, so i had no legal trouble ) i decided it was time to stop. i rarely miss it, either

i love my new job.mazaks are wonderful machines. i've picked up a little programming, and can't wait to learn more. and it's a nice place to work, too

Sure it does, Kit. You just need some practice with it. :p

Cats seem really popular on SP. They're everywhere. :)

In other news, I need to clean my lab overalls.

In response to all comment concerning my family's rant; Yeah I know all that, it's just that - I'm still young and as such I'm brash, impertinent, headstrong and don't take lightly to authority

Final History exam today, can't say I'm nervous I understand everything there is to know.

I kinda like this quote I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me. - Hunter S. Thompson whoever is Hunter S. Thompson

@Flix: Hunter S. Thompson was the inspiration for Garry Trudeau's Uncle Duke; one of the characters from the comic strip Doonesbury.

He was also the author of books such as "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail 1972" (about the presidential election that year and one of my favourite political works;)) and quite a few others - and he is credited with inventing Gonzo journalism.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and IIRC the guy who coined the term 'air-conditioned nightmare' which is at least used in Mr. Bungle album California. :shake:

edit: Montresor beat me to it. Too good work. These things are supposed to be left at least a little vague and not very informative at best. :p

I'm jealous - Jimmy Carr is hilarious! :D

Yes, but I they didn't think I took being a smart-ass seriously enough, so they kicked me out. :p

    Thanks mates!,

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas? I never read the novel, but I did saw the movie and I quite liked it. I might just get the book.

Actually the quote was through iGoogle personal webpage that I have got the quote - each day some...website, sends me a "quote of the day".

Smart answers notwithstanding, I can spell, too, and also have trouble typing.
Also, Gnarf, hope the back is better soon . . .

Flix, I sympathize with both you and your parents. I hated being hovered over when I was your age, and now that I'm a :geezer: I hold my breath over every teen and twenty-something I know. I try not to hover, though.

I made it back from Knoxville but have to go back again in a day or two, maybe as early as this afternoon. Traffic was heavy but not impossible, and I suppose, compared to places like Los Angeles, it didn't even count as traffic.

Too much RL. I'd rather hang out here but just can't. So, babble without me for a few days, friends.

Going out to a not-so-good Japanese restaurant with a bunch of friends, including two who have split up and then rejoined about a dozen times in the past weeks. Even more awkward considering I was the one who introduced them in the first place (and no, I was NOT trying to play matchmaker!). OTOH I may just kick back and laugh at the situation if it turns really stupid (as it tends to with these two)

if i remember right, hunter s. thompson also wrote a book about the hells angels. i think he's the one that lived with them until they beat him half to death. then he wrote a book about them

i don't know if i could go to a japanese restaurant. i like my food cooked. and i'm not sure i can trust a race of people that eat raw fish and seaweed to cook anything. i love chinese food, tho. in fact, the new century buffet sounds like good idea for the weekend. they also have a great mongolian grill

I remember seeing advice that, if you're planning to visit Japan, you need to learn two important phrases in Japanese:

    Is it still alive?
    Cook it more.

Ha, I did get back to babble once more today! ;)

Did anyone else hear Johnny Depp's voice from the movie in their head as they read Fear & Loathing (and not in an off your nut sort of way ;) ) ?

Actually in my drinking days, the only think I had problems with were my mouth (talk about weapon of self destruction) and booze supply...
