Love my job! Haha I am used to doing it for free anyways, so getting paid to work in the scene shop for my school is an added bonus.

Erg, I have a headache that just won't go away. Figures I get this one my one day off per week. Methinks I'm getting burned out.

Chestnuts are falling of trees. Heaps of bright yellow and flaming red fallen leaves carried by the wind through my street. A little rain.
The resident raven is back at my window.

October. I love this month. :)

i like when it's cold outside, it is so much nicer to come inside then.

and the best thing is being inside a brick house and giving the finger to mother nature as she tries to push my building over and flood my cellar, little does she know that it is not my cellar but someone elses! haha ME - 1 "Nature" - 0

    Me too Lore.

I much prefer decorating for Halloween than for Christmas. Christmas has become a commercial consumer holiday and lost a lot of its original meaning. There is still something real about Halloween though. I've even started decorating early this year. My fence outside already has a nice coating of spiderwebs, and I've begun to make a giant spider out of recycled materials.

Well...while you guys are ranting about how much you hate Xmas, I'm going to by updating my Amazon wish list with all the crap I want! :p I don't consider myself religious, so it's hard to celebrate Xmas, but getting/giving s*** is always nice! :D

In other news, I hate this week...I've got 8 more hours of work until I have 3 days of freedom... :bad: :rolling:

Around here, Christmas tree and presents are parts of the New Year celebration, and Christmass proper is purely religious and celebrated on the 7th January. (We still use the old calendar for religious purposes).
I like the fact that they are separated - that way, if you are religious, you get to enjoy a quiet, family holiday with all sorts of traditional customs, and everyone, religious or not, gets a Happy, Shiny New Year Celebration. ;)

The Christmas tree stays decorated until the the Serbian New Year celebration on January 14th (that holiday is optional :p and mostly just a great party occasion).

Halloween is not celebrated here, as such.

Hangovers are caused by drinking all the wrong types of booze...if you stick with Vodka, you'll be fine. :yum: :rolling:

Saw this article today and part of it gave me such a chuckle, I have to share it.

Basically, a small part of Leicestershire was so worried about people ripping off their pies that it applied to the European Commission asking for protection. Funnily enough, the other members of the EU didn't really care. The decision will now become a part of European law. The lengths some places will go to to believe they are significant...

The best way to avoid hangovers is to keep drinking. That way you'll stay drunk and never get to the hangover stage. :D

ION, it's raining cats, dogs and all manners of pets outside! On a Sunday!! :( /me boots up Planescape: Torment.

Didn't we have a christmas-haters thread last year? Or was it the year before that?

Sounds like a tradition already, I'm all for it.

So Melton Mowbray pies are now our new national treasure according to EU law?

    This is pretty funny

It was indeed last year, and I suspect it will re-open at the appropriate time.

A sunny day in Edinburgh! Yes, they do exist :D

It's been a lovely day. I had a walk through the city with a mate, stopping outside a café every once in a while to have coffee/tea/chocolate in the sun. This is what a lazy Sunday is all about!

Hey! But why are you all talking about Christmas?!? Halloween is coming. Why can't we talk about some scary things like spirits and skeletons and electoral candidates? :p. No seriously, don't talk about electoral candidates - those are too scary.

Dragonfly, are you kidding? Of course we should be talking about Christmas! I mean, over here every restaurant has been accepting bookings for Christmas lunch since mid-July. They probably all booked out sometime in September! It's Christmas shopping time already!

And I wish I was joking...
