Ah, belated happy New Year to you all.

The part I hate most after getting quite drunk is how at some point I just don't remember anything. I know I was going outside the door, I remember walking around Sofia at night with a bottle of Stolichnaya (to be consumed at an undisclosed later party), but apart from that, no memory whatsoever.

It may be pretty minor, but I don't like just not remembering.

Oh well, might as well watch another X-files episode before going to work. Isn't it weird how people were so keen on absurd government conspiracies in the 90s, but not now? Heck, the current decade has enough rumors for a spookshow twice as long.

Watching The Office + alcohol = good times. :thumb:

Haven't had such a calm and quiet New Year's for awhile...it was kind of nice for a change.

Well, probably the second, since I can look back on so many arguments and find I was not as right as I thought I was - though that doesn't happen so much when it's something I am fairly well versed in and the other person is not.

It is New Year's Day at last - well, yes, I suppose it has been for nearly 10 hours here but staying up till 2:30 in the morning isn't all that conducive to getting up on time, now is it? :D And you have no idea (well, most of you have no idea, Nakia and some others do) how late 2:30 am is for a :geezer: like me.

Bright, sunny, cold: actually a perrfect day for January 1. Best wishes to all, and comfort to the hungover. ;)

Well a happy new year to all. Unfortunately I don't have an hangover, family reunion was actually pretty lame and boring. Only my parents, my Aunt and I. All of them in their 50s engaged in the usual weather-sport-work trinity of boring conversation, which btw I couldn't care less. Meh! I'm looking forward to get properly wasted with my friend the greet the last year of the decade.

Both my computer DVD burner and DVD reader are beginning to act weird. I insert a disc, it takes forever to read, and sometimes when I insert another one, it actually shows the files that were in the other disc, which is now physically out of the computer wtf? Oh well, they were the only components I salvaged from me old computer and they both dates from the distant past of 02'

Ironically the solution I came up with is to make ISOs of all my Softwares (mainly games) to be stored on my hard drive. This way I'd only need to mount them if I ever needed them. I think it's going to be a rather time consuming project and with faulty drives I wonder if it'll be even possible. Oh well...

    The Office or The Office?
And you're supposed to drink the alcohol, watching it doesn't do any good. :p

I'm bored. 8 more days before all the "Yay I'm 18 and get free stuff and can ride a motorcycle into the sunset". Maybe I should buy a camera or something to pass the time.

 As a :geezer: hurtling toward the second half of my 50s I'd have to say the weather-sport-work trinity is indeed boring. My sympathies, Ofelix. Hope you can get together with people more to your taste soon, and happy New Year anyway.

I think I've decided that getting drunk, but not completely wasted is the way to go. No hangover!

I don't buy a lot of books anymore unless it is an info book I can't do without. For the most part I find that the library is useful, cheap, and makes for much less clutter. Now that I have my account online I even get an email the day before the books are due so that I can remember to return them on time or renew them online and put off returning them for another 3 weeks.

The rest of the day I'll be studying. Guilt has strangled me in my sleep, finally. :p

No hangover for me. Stick to clear liquors...they are your friends! :yum:

I have to go back to work tonight for a single 12 hour shift, and then I have a 4 day weekend. It seems so stupid to make us go back to work for only 1 night...but whatever.

My son is wandering around with a Duplo brick in his mouth (to big to swallow which is why I'm typing and not being neurotic mummy) while shouting Hiya into a remote control and he's just wiped his snotty nose on my foot!

My only and first gods forsaking hangover was all vodka (though it was Monarch, yech)... though does it still count as 'clear' when you make screwdrivers? (Yes I say for sure).

Yesterday was mostly arbor mist in a proper wine glass since i wanted to be classy, haha. Mixed with beer was better than both beverages by themselves.

Oh, I was breaking all the folk rules on alcohol NYE. I was mixing beer, wine, hard liquor, mixed drinks, the lot.
I think I know what saves me. I get thirsty when I drink booze, so before I go to sleep, I drink quite a bit of water. Hard on the bladder, but I think that's what has saved me from having a hangover for so long.

ION, I went to work today, but the facilities guys were still painting and carpeting, so there wasn't much for my team to do. Monday's gonna be nuts, trying to get these computer systems put together while people are trying to re-organize offices, teach classes, deal with confused students, etc.

    @Stef -
I discovered that trick when I used to drink and party a lot. You can drink as much as you want as long as you follow with about the same amount of water. My first and worst horrible hangover was before I discovered that little trick and polished off most of a bottle of lemon gin. I think I was around 19 at the time. After that I NEVER EVER touched lemon gin again.
