Most of us here (including me) tend to focus on fantasy related games. But I know some of you out there are Warhammer 40k and Dawn of War fans.

I used to play 40k when I went to GenCon (haven't for a few years) but I know most of the factions decently well.

What is the DoW2 storyline/plot points for the Eldar campaign. I don't have a PC and the ones (on which I played a bit of DoW 1) I used to have access to are long gone. Of all the factions I came to like the Eldar and Tau the most.

I know there are no Tau in DoW2 but there is an Eldar faction. What is the story with them and where does it go? Spoilers please.

I know how the Space Marine campaign ends and while I'm hunky dory with that (don't mind it at all) I'm not sure if the Eldar campaign would end the same way as the Eldar don't seem (or do they?) to much in the way of space ships in the area. My understanding is that the Eldar even have a special interest in the swamp/jungle planet. Thanks.

What makes you think there is an Eldar campaign?

I heard there is one. Also there are 4 factions mentioned in the game. The last group of expansions of DoW (such as Winter Assault, Dark Crusade, & Soul Storm) allowed you to pick your faction. It doesn't make much sense to remove that option now that people are in the habit of using it.

There isn't, at least for now. I have seen some screenshots from an early eldar campaign draft, but apparently that option was nixed for the original DoW 2. It may come in an expansion.

It's no surprise that there isn't an Eldar campaign, really. There was only the Spacemarine campaign in the original DoW as well.

Thats too bad.... looks like the game's makers went backwards or were too eager to put out a game to include more than the SM campaign.

About Eldar being pansy-assed, I once saw the results of a table-top game (4 sides) where Chaos Marines were attacking everyone (they had the same amount of troops as the other 3 factions combined). Against the SMs and nids the Chaos forces gave a worse pounding than they received. Not so with the Eldar.

I guess it depends on the players and armies. As far as I can see, Eldar tend to have a lot of specialist units and with the right army set can counter nearly anything. In fact, they may be one of the best races if you somehow know what your enemy is going to be :)
