Problem with Windsong quest in chapter 1

ok i am having a problem moving on with this quest.. i rescued windsong, the druid, and he opened the way for me to rescue his wife, or so he says. Now i go to the north, and there were 2 pieces of wood that i can target, with 2 kegs after them.. i was able to destroy 1 of those wood pieces, but even though i can target the 2nd one, it is too far away for me to attack, or it is buggy and wont let me attack, even with a bow or spells. I CAN attack the kegs after them though. and i cant move past that wood barricade.

Then to the north and east of windsongs hut, there are orcs, and an orc shaman behind another wooden barrier, but i cant get by that barrier either. i have nowhere else to go.. can anyone tell me what i have to do next? When i talk to the druid he just offers me healing, or rest. Thats it..

Any ideas? please?

 

You have to clear that area in a certain order. And if you don't do it in the proper order, some of the logs cannot be moved (yet). IIRC, you have to rescue his wife before the logs to the NE can be moved....

 

The area you need to go to proceed is SE, near where you entered.

ok i tried to go SE.. now i see the logs there were moved and opened for me.. but the screen ends there.. i cant go south any more than that..

i am up to the part where i have to rescue the druids wife.. thats where i need to get to..

 

Go south to where you entered the area, then west and follow the path.

 

Gah! I got my East and West mixed up

wait.. isnt that where i came in from? doesnt that take you to the world map?

 

I'm not sure why this is so difficult.

Down NEAR the overall area's entry point there's a path that was blocked by logs. I'm thinking that they're probably unblocked now. Also, this area uses some little cutscenes to show you when and where paths become unblocked.

The not-really-all-that-hidden path I think you're looking for is to the immediate left of the party in this picture. When you first enter the area, the path is blocked by logs. But I think that it's probably been unblocked by now for you, Akrudo.

 

I'm not 100% sure but after you rescue HIM, you might have to talk to him at his house for him to open the way.

 

Actually, that's a good point, starfox. You may need to talk to him before the logs blocking that path are removed.
