    :jawdrop:

This is a wolf, it has also not been genetically modified in any way. It is related to the dog.

This is a highlander, it has also not been genetically modified in any way. It is related to cattle.

I mean really, it is not [an animal I normally eat/available on Farmville] so let's make a "scientific" article about how it's not genetically modified.....

For a second there, I thought you were going to say it was related to Connor MacLeod. :)

I'll agree, though. This is something of a non-issue. Our local zoo has odder-looking critters than that.

Indeed not an issue. The issue is human stupidity (or the activity of those who make profit from it -- but this would lead far from the present topic).

[IMG] You should hear the crap from city children, it's painful some of the things they say about animals. Such as "Don't be dumb, cows can't be that big, they're about the size of a labrador", "Are flamingoes real?", "Birds aren't animals, they don't have hair", "Where does chicken come from?", "That pig is half cow!" (in reference to a saddleback breed), "They invented black sheep to stop being racist", "Look! A red squirrel! I thought they were extinct!" (pointing excitedly at a grey squirrel), "Rare breeds farm? Does that mean I can't have mine cooked longer?", "That's too big to be a horse, it must be some african thing.", (after pointing out a wild boar rooting at the side of the road) "Aww! Someones' dog escaped! They probably let it loose by the road, I would if mine was that ugly."

My favorite was a guy from New Jersey I knew in the Navy. We were in Idaho Falls, Idaho and he and some friends took a drive through the country. While passing a herd of white cattle he commented, "Oh look, sheep."

Somewhat off-topic, but for some reason I’m reminded of the time a number of years ago when my wife and I went to our local zoo. We were at the prairie dog exhibit, and another couple was standing a few feet away from us. The woman turned to the guy she was with, and said “they look so life-like” *; it took all the self control I could muster to refrain from pointing out to her that their life-like appearance was probably due to the fact that they were, in fact, alive. :shake:

    * I assume she was referring to the prairie dogs, and not us. :D
