There's really not much to add here - other than he wants the state to pay for it. Just another WTF article that I felt the need to pass along. How he possibly thinks the state will go for this is beyond me. Then again, he got convicted to 30 years, so maybe it's something to pass the time.

Well... that makes sense. After the change, he will only be raping himself. No potential victims, everyone is happy, see? That, or he is trying to get away from all the males in prison and their acquired homosexuality...

 

Seems to me that he's being very clever.
When he's released, he's going to be known as a sex offender, thereby giving him little chance of a relationship. The op means that he'll be able to leave prison unidentified.

Also, as a woman he won't be able to stay in a male wing of a prison (plus the sex change will make him a target for violence) but, as a rapist of women, he can't go into a womens prison...gives him a chance at getting free

 

He needs to be killed not given expensive operations at taxpayer expense. That is all.

 

He's an idiot, and if he gets it, the people who decided it are idiots as well. Why should the state pay for this?

 

Either that or reformed. Imprisoning someone for thirty years is the most idiotic decision imaginable.

 

Something tells me this guy cannot be reformed. The sad truth is that some people are just broken and cannot be allowed into civilized society.

 

It's a Catch-22. Some people can be reformed, some cannot. Would you want to be the guy who made the call to release him, only to have him rape someone else?

F**K yeah they should pay for it...as long as the state gets to choose the "doctor" and the tools needed.

I do believe it would be appropriate indeed. The fact that double standard regarding sex crimes is still alive and well in this day and age is simply sickening and shameful. I could also suggest the removal of another body part, but since it is not MUG...

Also, the state should ensure that the guy in question does not actually like rusty spoons.

Not just a rusty spoon.....but a DULL & rusty spoon! Oh, and they don't get any anesthetics. If they think that's cruel and unusual punishment, there's always the firing squad...or a guillotine...

Why not just hang him... tie the noose down there and tell him if he struggles hard enough, his sex would change.

Ah, you misunderstood me (and undermined my evilness)...while they could be used to kill, they are both great tools for removing one's manhood.

 

Not to nitpick, but is there any other kind? In all my years, rusty or not, I have yet to find a sharp spoon. I mean, sporks are sharp, but sporks really aren't spoons. Or forks. Or a reasonable replacement for either. It could, of course, simply be that I'm too sheltered and naive to recognize the plethora of sharpened spoons that dot our nation's landscape, but I likewise find this unlikely. I guess it's theoretically possible that an inmate could find occasion to sharpen a spoon as a makeshift weapon, but it is unlikely that they'd get the opportunity with enough occasion to make them anything but the exceedingly rare exception to the rule. Prisons count the silver before and after each meal for a reason, and even if a spoon or two were to fall through the cracks, I rather doubt that the state will be selecting that apocryphal spoon-sharpening inmate to perform the surgery.
