How are you doing with yours?

I decided to start running in order to lose a few pounds and get fit. It's going well so far, I started an 8 week run/walk program which aims to get you to be able to run for 30 mins non-stop by the end of it. I'm just about to start my 3rd week.

Another one, to drink less. Which was going 'fairly' well, until a massive all-day session yesterday.

Do you run outdoors or on a treadmill?

I've resolved not to die this semester from overworking myself. So far, so good.

I've resolved to turn 51 this year unless I die before my birthday.

    So far so good.

I've also resolved to not let my prejudices against old age force me to make fun of people's old age.

So ok, you run outdoors. Which is good :) I personally can't stand running on a treadmill. But how often do you run (on a weekly basis)? And how much time do you spend each week on this?

Barmy, I remember when I was overweight years ago. To shed off the excess pounds I plunged into back country backpacking... something I wanted to do for a long time. To enjoy the activity, I got into jogging, brisk walking, weight training and mt. biking (not all at the same time). I ended up enjoying backpacking and mt. biking immensely and got to loss 20 lbs in a couple of months as well. Meaning, if you start to not care about your running goals, think of another activity you want to do that your running can be beneficial to. That way, it takes of the pressure of simply just trying to get those extra lumps off your body.

3 times a week, it's probably about 20 mins each time at the moment, as I'm still at the beginning of the programme, but it increases each week.

Cheers noir, I know where you're coming from :)

I also try to run three times a week, but so far I haven't been able to turn it into a habit. I think I've found the best time for running now: eleven at night :D I think that the best thing I did to learn myself to run for longer stretches was to chose a circular route of 3-6 km and try to complete that entire thing without stopping.

Hah, same thing here :D I want to run again three times a week. And ride home from work by bike (roughly ten miles) daily. The latter part should be the far easier one.

    Sounds good Barmy. :thumb:

I used to run 3 days a week, but now I pretty much run every day. I managed to reach 50km last week and have done 100km so far this year. I'd like to try and get to 2,011km in 2011.

What would an oboe be then? Can instruments have anorexia?
