Crash At Nickodemus

    I'm experiencing a strange issue that could possibly be game-ending. I'm at the Ice Temple, have killed all of the priestesses, and now the last one has taken ethereal form. I want to wake up Nickodemus but every time I get near him in his room the game locks up and I have to kill it through Task Manager. Has anyone ever seen anything like this or knows how to resolve it?

    As i remember, you don't need to talk to nickademus to defeat oria's essence,, just walk one of your party members to the battle room and flick the corresponding switch to enable the 'inner sanctum' for your party so you can damage her.

    hopefully you'll be able to talk to nickademus once oria lies dead ?

    Ah, I thought I had to get something from him in order to defeat her. I didn't put 2 and 2 together when she mentioned his Inner Sanctum, even though I had seen "Inner Sanctum Activated" when messing with the switches. I did some troubleshooting, anyway, and it looks like a mod pack I installed is causing the crash, though I've gotten this far in the game with no problems. Even if I defeat her there's probably the possibility of crashes so I'll check it and see.

    no problem.
    As i remember it, you can either get nicodemus' help with defeating oria, or just get a reward from him, in turn of which he will summon you back to the ice temple later in the game before you head to the severed hand - be sure to pick either one of the options and collect on it before leaving the ice temple, or he will not summon you back there later, meaning you lose out on a lot of experience.
