Why does Jaheira have 2 pips in club?

Seriously. Wtf for? She uses anything BUT a club. You don't even find a decent club until a good ways into the game. Why not put those 2 points into either sword & shield or scimitar?
    Anyone have an idea why?
Just some random none relevant babbling going on here

Part of the challenge for me as I look at it.

Edit: Also, I go after Imoen right away. So I find that anti-undead club fairly soon, which I suppose helps.

There's some cleric/druid spell that supplies a magical club too, IIRC... though I don't recall if that even takes proficiency into account.

Magical weapons don't generally use weapon proficiencies. They provide their own bonuses where appropriate. Shillelagh included, if memory serves me.

Correct, Shillelagh does not take into account any proficiency, it just gets an innate +1 to hit.

Jaheira seems to favor wooden weapons that deal crushing damage (her BG1 portrait even has her using a staff). It's likely an AD&D druid thing, and it suits her personality. It also makes perfect sense from a BG1 perspective (iron ore shortage).

There aren't a lot of good clubs in BG2, but as long only Jaheira uses them it's enough. Unfortunately the Star Metal Cudgel spell is absent in BG2 (one of the best IWD weapons).
Anyway Jaheira gets a lot of weapon proficiency pips so you'll have enough to max everything you need eventually.

Yeah, your options in bg2 are quite limited, but by this point you should already have proficienc in some other weapons as well.
They fixed the fact that bg1 had literally no good clubs available though, by introducing a few new ones :

    BG1:EE :
Club +1 - On one of the 2 people trying to cut down the dryad's tree in the Dryad Falls.
Night Club +1 (Thac0 +1,+2 at night) - in a chest in entar sivershield's garden in NW Baldur's gate. <- easy to miss, since it's not a location you'd expect anything good to be. as oopposed to inside the mansion.)
Might oak (Club +2) -Shadow druid leader, cloakwood 3, inside treehouse. <- also easy to miss, as you can dissuade the leader from attacking you through dialog, after which he leaves the area, never to be seen again.

    Siege of Dragonspear :
Mosela's cudgel +2 (saves vs alteration +2, +1 to hit and damage vs constucts) - Purchasable from Herod
Backwhacker (Target becomes unconscious for 2 rounds when a backstab is performed (Save vs. Death negates) -Sold by Waizahb
