Walkthrough NPC list update?

Some of the ability scores are in the wrong order: for instance Meleny's wisdom and charisma are reversed, Besides that, the numbers aren't often correct. I don't know if there is a way to read the NPC data from inside the meta-data, but somebody industrious could figure out the NPCs stats by watching what they start at on the levels where you get an ability point to spend - it shows their true stats then.

 

Does that mean he's the only one who can edit it? Looking at his profile it looks like he hasn't been around for perhaps six years. Or is there a more accurate list someplace here?

 

The only one I'm sure of atm is that Meleny's wis and cha are reversed. I should have taken notes on what her starting stats where when I leveled her to 4. But I was assuming that you more experienced old farts might have figured out a better way of finding out what the NPCs base stats are by now that a total newb like me wouldn't know how to do? Oh, her Str is 8 not 6.

 

I have kinda bad habits about gaming, for me it's all about being interested in the girl companions so I'm focusing on the ones that I think would be fun to have in my party. I restarted my party when I found out that I could marry Meleny and get a druid AND a +1 holy sword out of the deal + it fit with my preferred play style of it being all about the girlz. I would have probably preferred to take Fruella over Elmo, but Elmo's starting level, his equipment, and the enhanced success you get from several of the Hommlet quests for having him made him make more sense: When I completed Unhappy Tailor I was able to get a Masterwork Repeating Crossbow from the tailor because having Elmo made it easier to get his dad to let the tailor into the militia. I could probably have turned Fruella into as good a tank by now with found gear, but I lacked a second Male PC to marry her.

 

Ok. I'm such a newb around here. I've had this game for a long time but the NPC looting bug made me HATE it. I was probably half through with it long ago and just got tired of doing the old glove shuffle work-around and gave up. But I have a lot more free time on my hands and I'm taking a second look at a lot of my old games.

However I don’t think that all NPC’s are identical for ToEE, ToEE with Co8 and ToEE with Co8 New Content.

 

Wow does that help, and also adds lots of intriguing choices. Now I'm wondering if I can't give Zaxis the boot and pick up Serena's sister Riana and turn her into a Rogue2/Bard+ considering her listed Charisma is higher than Zaxis and if I go back and grab Serena and then Riana as soon as I get to Nulb she should rapidly make up most of the differences in levels.

I'm also considering whether to start a new group with two male PCs and a female to complete as many Hommlet quests as possible (especially the marriage quests) and gather as many Hommlet companions as I can. For instance I see one can hire Burne's apprentice Pishella. Losing a level or two in the primary class (my intent being Wizard) for some extra low level Sorc spells seems pretty viable. I should check to see what Prestige classes were implemented. There was one that required Wizard and Sorcerer and both had to have 2nd level spells or so. THAT could be a good choice for her if it exists in-game.
