Hav you done the tomb quest? You have to do that and then you'll need 1 (any of them) of the skulls you have.

If you have done the tomb quest then i have no idea what has happened. Try reloading an earlier save perhaps? Is your game patched/modded at all?

There's no way to get to Lothar without doing the tomb's quest. Besides, if he has Soego's skull, then the answer is yes. Haugrimm's skull should work as well. If you use a save game editor, Lothar is nasty to kill, and I think you have to get his dialog to proceed in the game anyway.

Lothar has straight 25s in all stats and 32k hitpoints, so I'd love to see you kill him.

I meant the nameless one's tomb. You have to speak to Lothar to get it and you could get the skulls he has without having got it.

[edit] just had a thought - You don't actually need Morte. I mean you can bypass the whole lothat section (i think). It doesn't happen if morte doesn't get captured. try just continuing playing without morte.

TNO's tomb? No you don't. I enter there from the drowning nations as part of Pharod's quest all the time, before I even go to the Lower Ward and meet Lothar.

You don't need Morte, no, but you must talk with Lothar to learn about Ravel and continue on in the game.

[IMG] Fairly pointless thing, but u can use any of the "special" skulls on Lothat to get Morte - ie. Hagrimm,Stale Mary etc... When i played it i ended up killing everyone in the dead nations after id done everything (the quests etc), so i got loadsa skulls. Is there anything u can do wif the leftover ones later or do u just chuck'em? And why the hell cant u sell them to Lothar since he loves skulls so much?!?

There is no other use for them. Just get rid of them.

The short answer would be: Because the designers never put that into the game. Honestly, though, I'd never thought of that possibility.

Check out this official TSR info. Go down to Lothar. You can normally sell him skulls.

That info is taken directly from the AD&D books. It was never implemented in game. Sorry.

    Yea I know, that's my point. ;)
I wasn't disagreeing with you. I was agreeing with AcidWoRm that it should have been an option.
