I want to start a new 3 man party,
I am thinking an evil cleric/fighter dual or multi? a Lawful neutral druid fighter dual or multi?

and I now need a mage/bard or thief in the mix...?

Any thoughts? for instance should I start with a thief and dual at level 10 to mage, no armor no headache (low backstab upside as he is not a fighter thief, and triple class wil have a limit on leveling...

Any thoughts on race/alignment classes etc?

Do you have HOW installed? Some priest spells are affected by alignment with the expansion installed. For instance, Level 5: Cure Critical Wounds and Level 6: Heal (which restores full health) wouldn't be available to you w/ an evil cleric. But with only 3 party members you wouldn't have as many HPs to loose, so you maybe could get by with the lesser healing spells.

Also, with HOW you could enable 'crippling strike' instead of backstab for your mage/thief, that way they get a slight bonus in damage whenever they attack from behind plus the THAC0 goes down on your foe with each 'crippling strike'.

Anyway, good luck. I made it through with a 4 member party (paladin, fighter/cleric, fighter/thief and cleric/mage) and kept having to return to town to sell things off to free up inventory slots (why drop a perfectly good +1 dagger when I could sell it for a bit of gold :D.)

[IMG] Reason for the evil cleric is spells such as poison, when someone is poisoned they can no longer cast spells. Helping out when you are up against some mean spellcasters.

Any other strategies to avoid the need of an evil cleric? Or can druids cast poison, even if they are neutral?

I know the seven eyes spell covers this, but it is pretty high level, so I may struggle early on.

What about the old druid, is he overrated? because if he is then a F/C, F/T and F/M would cover all the stats, (no bard)

conversely a F/T, M/C, F/D buth then I wouldn't have a third melee guy, however I could have healing abilities right from the start, dualing over as soon as I get enough healing power...(This works!)

As for inventory, maybe I need a fourth, a good and bad cleric, one combo'd with a fighter, the other with the mage...bards? are they overrated? or should i get one of them too?

    Any additional thoughts?

If you have a druid you will rule...The new druid in HOW is amazing and my favorite character...I can change into a fire elemental...how can you beat that...so I would take a druid in some form or another...My Illusionist/Thief Mult is amazing as well....go with Illusionist Thief not mage thief. As far as cleric go evil. You already have a druid to do the healing. The new evil cleric spells are cool. Just some thoughts.
