Just beat HoW. The last boss was not so difficult. Good expansion, but a bit on the short side.
I need to beat the main quest now, but I will be using an old file, or else it would take all challenge of beating the last boss with my powered up party. I still need to find one last badge though...
Anyway, when I got to the last boss, my characters were exported, but to where?
As soon as I killed the last boss, I was back into Kaldahar. If I had not left behind a save file, would that mean I would not be able to play through the Lure Master expansion?
Anyway, now I need to beat the original game, the Lure Master expansion - is it lenghty - and off to Icewind Dale II, although I might play Planescape before.
I do like Baldurs Gate better though. :)
PS: Sorry about the incoherent post, but it is almost 6 AM and I am a bit tired/asleep.

    Congrats,
Now, if you look in the folder:
"C:bad:Program Files\Black Isle\Icewind Dale\characters", you should find your exported chars.
And you are right about the Trials expansion, you have to be in Lonelywood to start it, but it's worth it, if you ask me ;)
Good luck with IWD2, too :)

You're meant to play ToTL before you leave the Lonelywood area, as you can't get back to it after that...

That is not a problem, I left a save there...

Why didn't you play it before moving on with the game? It's meant to be played before the end of the game... there are some pretty good challenges and XP in it.

Because I thought it could water down the difficult too much.
By the way, just beat the main quest - I had not found that stupid book to fix the bridge, so I was stuck before; no idea how I could have missed.
Anyway, the game does not have much of a story, but the ending movie was kind nice with that narrator twist. It gave me shrivers down my spine.
I wanted to had finished Icewind Dale before moving to HoW though. It is done now anyway...
Should I play Icewind Dale 2 for the sake of continuity, or take a breake in Planescape?

Well, the save file I left was at the last dungeon, and I can't go back, so I will have to use totally different characters if I want to go through trials expansion. Can I beat it fastly?
By the way, I forgot to ask: In the credits R.A.Salvatore was thanked. How was his involvement?

RA Salvatore first wrote about Crenshinibon (the Crystal Shard). He also did a lot to flesh out Icewind Dale (the location, not the game, to my knowledge)

Ah, same here. Just finished the whole thing today (after playing it for hours). My back hurts, and I'm "pissed" because I too didn't find that book for bridge, so I had to look up the answers, and I hate doing that. That "puzzle" was kinda lame.

And why do all the characters get only 2 HP after like 10th level?I wanted to grow some 500HP monsters...

I'll be playing it again soon...

"And why do all the characters get only 2 HP after like 10th level?I wanted to grow some 500HP monsters..."

At level one your character recives full hitpoint (max), in the case of a fighter that would be 10 hp +con modifier. At levels 2 - 9 you get 1D10+con (random 1-10 +con, so example 1-10+4 for average plying fighter). At level 10 and after you get +3 Hitpoints every level and no con bonus.

This is how the AD&D 2nd edition rules works, and as such is correct in the game.

I belive the reason it is such is just to negate the existence of such mentioned 500+ hp monsters. go figure...

IWD2's plot is unrelated to IWD1, though there are a few references.

Ps:T has the better story of the two, at least in my opinion.
