[IMG] OK I finished the game with 6 full characters (it was fun regardless!) but was actually dissapointed by the level I got.(used to big numbers from BG2 and ToB)Unfourtunately I do not have any expansion, but ı downloaded xp cap remover. NOW if only I could gain more xp...

ANYWAY, now I am starting all over, and just to nake things more interesting, fun, and high leveled, I wanted ONLY 2 characters. (It is GREAT as unlike 3E rules the xp received will not get smaller and smaller as we level up)One was a fighter (but ofcourse) with big HP, AC, THAC0, att/round. The other was a cleric that I wished to dual into a mage (I like those) NOW I need your ideas.

    Fighter
    STR 18/90(VERY good)
    DEX 18
    CON 18
    INT 8
    WIS 8
CHA 15 (int and wis are unimportant so I pumped points here) (prove me wrong?)
Proficiencies:LargeSword and Longbow he will GM these.

    Cleric
STR 8(it hurts to carry stuff but this is the best roll I have ever made)
DEX 9 (I want that potion of holy transference -1DEX +2 wis)
CON 16 (no need for higher)
INT 18(will be dualled into mage)
    WIS 18 (obvious)
CHA 18 (it is cool to pick interesting dialogue options triggered by high int, wis AND cha. And there are LOTS of these.)
Proficiencies: Quarterstaff, Misile, and the occasional Mace

Fighter is well enough, he uses large swords and longbows when needed. (acidic arrows sold in Severed Hand does MASSIVE damage!)

BUT my cleric needs help. AT what level should I dual him? (I want at 14, like I did in BG2 but is it pointless? There are not so many useful clerical spells in IWD, sadly.) PLUS what should he do during this time? What weapon/spell do you suggest to him to be effective? (His STR is poor due to his HIGH int and wis required to dual. ı am a powergamer but not with all stats 18.)There is no HolySmite in IWD and cleric spells are generally poor. I usually pick Magic Stone, (good damage and better to undead) HoldPerson or Cure spells, AnimateDead (but it is weak) MentalDomination is nice if it works. What else?
Or should he constantly buff/heal the fighter?

Can I SK it to add some nifty Druidic spells like Monster Summonings/Barkskin/Flameblade (NOT static charge and the like though) as in BG2 clerics have these and in IWD2 clerics have GiantInsect (is this a good summon for cannon fodder?) Is it cheating? (NO I do not think so?)

    Thanks all in advance.

I played part of IWD2 using only two charas... I made up whatshisname, and Liriel Baenre from that trilogy by Elaine Cunningham. :)

Fighter and Cleric, or maybe she was a wizard... cant remember what I set her as.

^Pure fighter and a caster to back up, this is a good combination nevertheless. Still I need a little help as my fighter kills everything fast and my cleric only tries to cast something or heal the fighter only to get his spells disrupted most of the time(You know how LOTS of enemies swarm around the two? AND my cleric can only wear StuddedLeather armor, or he will be encumbered, and he is just slow to his feet to avoid blows) ARGH luckily there are lots of healing potions...Should I make my cleric a cleric/mage right at the start? (I don't like MC, dual-class rules!)

Hm, id have recomended Ranger/Cleric and Thief/mage the most versatile party posible with two characters. and both can hide in shadows if needed. since dualclassing fighter still gives you no better than specialist in any weapon.

Perhaps a 3 person party? A fighter, Ranger/cleric(or singleclass) and a Bard? That would cover alot of areas.

ranger/clerics are good for spellcasting but Fighter Druids become the best taks! Just give them all the resistance items youcan find plus good equipment in general. Those with water elemental turns you into a tank that cant be hurt by physical blows. Unforunately it takes a while before you get that far so it is one of thos big awards way down the road things (but think when you are being attacked by 20 enemies being ivulnerable to physical is a great boon)!
