[IMG] Have IWD plus HOW and ToTL and have yet to actually see Turn Undead work for either Cleric or Paladin. Is there something I need to do so it works?

You have to activate the turn undead button and keep it activated. Most scripts disrupt turning by making the cleric attack.

You don't get a message when a turning attempt is successful, the affected undead only walk away or get destroyed. You might not even know if the last blow or the turning did this.

Usually your cleric's level just isn't high enough for successful turning, especially if he's multiclassed in a 6 person party.

Turning gets more difficult in HoF mode (I guess about 10 levels), but even then my level 29 cleric was able to destroy all enemies in chapter3.(Actually only a few ToTL undead enemies were immune to his turning attempts.)

If you want to see how turning works then you can have your sanctuary using cleric walk around alone in the respawning southeastern tomb in the Vale of Shadows after he has gained a few levels.

Turn Undead works once per round. So even after you start it you might have to wait for it to actually have an effect on undead. In that time you can't take any action other than moving.

Also, at low levels you might not have any effect. Or you might scare them for an increasing length of time. Or if you are of high enough level, as compared to the undead creature, you might outright blast it into pieces.
The area of effect of the Turn Undead ability increases to some extent with your levels.

Paladin Turn Undead is always weaker than that of a Cleric of similar levels iirc.

It is most effective, when you get past level 2 ;)

Well it is a relief to know that turn undead works in IWD's HoF, in IWD2's HoF it didn't work thanks to MAJOR HDs of the targets.

Well, it surely can save your ass against undeads. I recommend it to you. But it will work in a smaller project or a party with less characters. In fact I don't play at all with a full-line 6-person party. It's boring and tedious.
