[IMG] OK so I decided to create a themed party for the first time. The theme will be...well, please do not mock me too hard, but I am thinking about creating a Buffy the Vampire Slayer party, if applicaple. :shake:

Well, please allow me to defend myself first before laughing! PLEASE!

I recently discovered the show, I know it is not popular nowadays but a channel started to show it here in Turkey for the first time(A true miracle if any!) AND I think I fell in love with it. I just love characters, story, everything about the show is too cool. I surfed on the net to learn more about it, and now I want to create a themed party.

I hope you people at least know something about the show. Here are my ideas:

Buffy-Ofcourse, a Paladin. If this was BG2 I would make her an Undead Slayer, but a Paladin will have to do for now. She is a chosen, a rare one, and AFAIK Paladins are rare.

What about ability scores and proficiencies?

She would be a power-horse, with vampiric STR at least (18/76 or better) and as high as possible in DEX and CON. Mediocre INT, WIS will be adequete.

Proficiencies, Crossbow specialisation ofcourse, she uses it a lot in the show, what about a melee weapon? Stakes? I mean, what is closest to stakes?

Willow-This is easy. Pure human mage. With max INT and WIS. Other scores are not that important, but what are your ideas? Proficiencies are not important when she is a pure mage, BUT:

In the show she starts her withcraft in the later seasons, thus I think to start her as a mere fighter, then dual into a mage. Do you think this will be appropriate?

Xander-Tough one. I can not decide what to make him. He is not very strong, smart, or charismatic, but he is agile (since he manages to esape mosnters a lot) so make him a thief? Maybe F/T with lousy STR? What about scores and proficiencies?

Oz-I just like this guy's personality. If this was BG2 I could make him Shapeshifter, so he could become a werewolf! But now, I don't know. A bard, perhaps as he does play in a band? Or should I make him a druid so that he could shapechange into a wolf?

Tara-Willow's love interest, she is also a mageling I suppose. Should I make her a cleric? Or C/M? Or C/F? What?

Giles-Big question mark. He sure knows magery, so maybe he should start as a (specialised) mage and dual into something else? It is stupid idea, but good for RPing, he leaves the dark arts, while Willow starts it and continues to rise in power vastly to fit the theme!

What do you think, I want to hear your opinions and ideas, to create a themed but all in all balanced party. Please do not mock me too hard if you hate Buffy series, or people who love it. OK? ;)

If you have BG2 you could get BGtutu, make Buffy an undead slayer and Oz a shapeshifter. I'd suggest Easy Tutu if you want to take that path.
I'd make Xander a Bard, a Jester if you get Tutu. He never really did anything special for the group but was always there to help and be the funny cheer up the party guy.
I'd think willow should be a full mage, a wild mage with tutu since theres more than a few "Ugh oh" moments with her magic.
Tara would fit as a sorcer i think, i remember a storyline with her parent hating her saying shes a demon since her magic comes naturally.
I don't really know what to do with Giles, he feels more like an NPC advisor than a character. You could go with the army guy buffy dates, the group could use another front row fighter type.

EDIT: I just realized your talking about Icewind dale, not baldur's gate, and all my tutu related suggestions mean diddly. !DOH!

[IMG] What about Spike? Don't forget him. And make him fall in love with Buffy of course.

Wouldn't making spike, or angel for that matter, require working with the icewind dale equivalent to SK to make them a vampire? Plus the always traveling a night, while fitting the theme, would be a pain.

I don't think you need to roleplay it THAT closely. Spike or Angel could easily just be a Drow. The Drow dialogues options cover the whole racial prejudice thing and they have disadvantages for fighting during the day.

That would still require hacking since its icewind dale one, not two, and you can't play as drow in that game.

I don't really know Buffy, but a very bright fellow I used to work with insisted--more than once--that it was the best written show on TV. So I'm not so much laughing as thinking I should have paid him more attention. Good luck with your party.

Wow, thank you for the cool replies and ideas.

Sadly, it is obvious that this theme will really fit to BG2, but I have no intention to create a full-MP party in BG2 while there are a whole bunch of NPCs and even mod NPCs lying around.

So I will make this theme in IWD.

What about making Willow a cleric? It makes little sense, BUT, she generally begs and prays to dark gods when casting a spell, and she has even actually RESSURECTED Buffy from death, so I think it makes some sense at least? What say you? Or C/M so that she can cast all spells? This sounds cool to me.

So Tara, I can make her a F/M. Sounds OK to me.

Xander would be a cool cool Jester, but I will make him a Fighter/Thief, I think.

Oz. Hmm, a druid, so he can shapechange a lot. Maybe start as fighter till dualling as he gets 'İnfected'.

Giles is out, I agree that he is more like a NPC chaarcter. I may take Riley. (the army guy which Buffy has a short affair) He will be a pure fighter and will be very valuable asset for tanking and melee, with GM in weapons!

    Do you agree so far?

UPDATE:So far, party is doing fine.

Buffy is using spears (which gives the staking effect, sorta) and doing great.

Xander is scouting and then hiding in shadows, but backtabbing only when absolutely neccesary or his friends are in danger.

I have made Willow a Fighter2/Transmuter, she is cool!

Oz has already gained the ability to shapechange into wolf. Coolness.

Tara is doing well with her cleric spells.

I loved this party soo much! :shake:

You could use darts instead of spears.

What about a Megadeth theme party, you can make them all bards

Never been into the show, so is it possible to make Willow a Bard (Thie one time, at Band Camp...)?

LOL, make her hot as anything though! Hubba hubba!

Oz should be bard, he played in a band.
