[IMG] I'm sorry if this is obvious, but can you use an ATI video card to play Neverwinter Nights?

    Thanks!!

[IMG] If the Neverwinter Nights viewer does not work, does that mean that the game will not work on my video card?

The model viewer uses the Aurora engine which the game also uses. If you can't run the viewer because of display card limitations, then you can't run the game.

Do you know if a 3DfX Voodoo 5500 64meg APG Video card will work?

    Take a wild guess, Slayer...

And 64 Mb card will work.

[IMG] Don't really know what you mean by that, but I saw a great deal on that card and was wondering if it would work for the game.

    My apologies :).

The card you mentioned is absolutely good enough to play. I wasn't in a good mood apparently...;)

[IMG] Don't buy anything from 3Dfx... Since the company's dead there won't be any new drivers or support so you're left with a silicon plate with no real value.

Taluntain you're absolutely right, 3Dfx sucks. They tried to copy the nVidia chipset, BAD idea...

My "old" Geforce Anialator 256 32 MB is way faster and better than a Voodoo 3/4 with 32 MB...

You don't own a nVidia card, you're missing out the goodies it provides...

the 3dfx card may work, but it won't be on the list of "supported chipsets." I had a voodoo 5 for a while and had all sorts of strange problems playing video games, all because nobody has supported it since 3dfx bought the farm last year.

    [IMG] I have a GeForce 4 Ti 4400 128MB of DDR RAM.

    Methinks I'm covered.

[IMG] Do you think a ATI Rage IIC card will be good enough?

How many MB? Anything over 64 will certainly be enough.

Don't know. It is a crappy card so I don't think it will work.

If you've got some details we can help you. Anything saying 16 Mb will not be enough, but most 32 Mb cards will do. 64, as said, is certainly enough.

As Mollusken already said, just downlaod the NWN Model Viewer ( here ). If you can see the models, then your video card will work with NWN. The download isn't particularly big - only 1.6 MBs or so.
