[IMG] I have a 9th lvl rogue / 2nd lvl Wiz. He cannot sell disabled traps (from the adventures) to any of the merchants in Port Llast. Should I allocate points in the craft trap skill or stop disabling the traps?

It's been a long time since I was in Port Llast. IIRC there is a kinda rogue merchant, halfling I think, just outside the shipyard store-house who will buy back traps. He also sells some items for rogues.

You cannot carry "disabled" traps, you just disable them, if you carry them then you have successfully RECOVERED them and thus they are fully functional. This means you can set these traps yourself, only this time only your enemies can set them off! Alternately you can indeed sell them at a halfling merchant at the above mentioned shipyard.

You might as well put some into the set traps skill. For a rogue/wizard they can make an otherwise difficult encounter into a fun little game. You don't absolutely need the craft traps skill if you're finding enough traps to recover anyhow.

Plus, since you are a wizard I would think you have a considerable intelligence (otherwise you shouldn't have taken it) and unless I'm mistaken recover and disable trap are intelligence-based skills so I would think setting trap should be as well. If not it would be dexterity-based which you also should have high since you are also a rogue so you would have a relatively high check even without assigning the skill points (you should however). In any case I really think it's worth it, perhaps even more than crafting traps. Try it out

    Cheers
