HotU quick question

    Quick question - did a search of the board and didn't find an answer -
    Last night, I started HotU for just a few minutes before I had to stop and sleep.
    The question is this - since all your gear gets ganked at the beginning, so you ever recover your items later, or do you just have to start from scratch?
    I'm hesitant to look through the various walkthroughs available - don't want too many spoilers (although I admit my question is a bit of a spoiler).
    If you don't get the stuff back, I'm thinking I should reload my last SoU save and sell everything but the absolute essentials so that I can have max $$ for HotU.
    Thanks for any insight on this.

    You do recover your items later, but not until the end of the chapter (more-or-less), when it's probably been mostly superceded by better stuff.

    Ditto. The only problem is it took me several hours of inventory shuffling before I've managed to pack everything I've gathered in the game up to that point, PLUS everything from before. Then going all over it to decide what's worth keeping, what should be dumped, what needs to be assigned to the quick slots, what I should equip, what I should give to the henchmen... gah. I think inventory management in NWN has taken at least 50% of my combined "play"-time. It's a pack-rat's worst nightmare.

    I have two Q's first i'll start out with how do you give stuff to your henchman i tried but it wont let me says can only give potions and second of off has anyone reached chapter 3? i have a problem with the second demon guy of the path he just wont die i can't land any hits on him at all.... please if anyone has an answer will be very thankfull.

    It's been so long I'm not sure of the answers, but I believe you talk to your henchman and one of the options you can choose will open his/her inventory for you.

    The demon I'm not sure if remember specifically, but it's likely you need a weapon of higher enchantment; I remember one Slaad-looking guy needed a very high enchantment (+7 or above IIRC).

    ok i have not tried the enchantment thing so i just got a two handed sword with a 10 enchantment on it so i'll go and try to bash that guys head in. But with the henchman thing do i look at his inventory and swap stuff from mine to his?

    Yes, you can swap things around from your inventory to your henchman's (including the slots for armor etc.)

    Thanks for the help I went through nwn to 3rd chp to hotu to 3 chp and didn't know how i was suppose to make them better, thought they would always run when i faced a dragon. lol
