So, are you min/maxing your characters or do you try to have a unique character that stands out? What class/race/equipment/weapons does your character carry?

Here's mine (main character):

Items worn: comfortable armor, gloves of discipline, necklace of will, cyan ring, Ring of Fortitude.

My character is only 5th level or so...So I'm still in the first chapter...List your characters here, I'd be interested to see what others are playing.

Hmm uniquness eh? Well, I'm not too sure how unique it is, but right now I'm playing a half drow 2 Monk/1 Cleric who uses mostly a long sword and bow, and of course his fists. Interesting combo I think.

 

I just got the game yesterday, but I am slightly min/maxing, but with a really good story behind it =). I have 1 level of monk, for a few extra hp and evasion, and all the rest of my levels will be necromancer, and a lawful good one at that. Her storyline is way too long to put here, but if you see me online, or in alfa, you can see it there =)

but my ALFA character wont have the monk level, all wizard there =)

As usual I first created a fighter to find out about the basic functions of combat. I have yet created a human paladin of Tyr, two pally levels and one fighter level, named Arakis Lord Belmen. He's a brave warrior, and he's so incredibly busy with beeing noble that he has no time to really think about other stuff. I chose the low in after finding that fancy fortait with the blond dude with his sword

Second char I have created was a female hafling rogue named Milla, much smarter and versatile than Arakis, I'm too lazy to post her stats here yet. And as a spammer I prefer to do that in a second post anyway I like it that as a smart char you can actually persuade people.

I think I will be able to play with him with these skill and feats I hope I can

I played NWN for the first time today!

Dolina came to Neverwinter after her parents were assassinated and her brother went missing. She fled from her home and decided to help wherever she could, hoping one day to find out who murdered her parents and the reasons behind their actions, though more importantly to find her lost brother who was close to her heart.


[Edit] Duh, I forgot the feats:
Armour proficiency - light, lightning reflexes, parry, move silently, listen, heal. I think thst's it.

He has some pretty average stas, mind you.

He is perhaps the densest of warrior mages. He no like being wise, just non-ignorant

Weapon of choice is the heavy crossbow +2. Companion of choice is now the dire spider, but had been the dire wolf and dire boar before that. I’m trying it solo and bought some thieving skills after I got to fourth level cleric. I was going to try being close to a multiclassed thief/cleric, but the cleric powers are coming in more handy most of the time, and being a first level thief has worked out well enough. I want to pick up the second level pretty soon though so I can get 7 more skill levels in lockpicking, but I think I’ll wait until after I can cast 5th level spells at least.

So far the solo is working out pretty well. I use my summoned creatures to block and heal them while picking off the enemy with my crossbow, searing light, negative energy beam, and hammer of the gods spells as the situation allows.

I wish I had put more resources into lockpicking though as that is the one area where I’m pretty weak and I wonder what treasure I’ve missed. I did use Tomi for a little while, breaking my solo effort, but dropped him pretty quickly after I opened a couple of things I was curious about.

 

you should bring Tomi along as a henchmen if you need lock picking skills
or Sharwyn can also pick locks but not quite as good as tomi.
or if you just bash the chests you can do it that way too

 

Tomi indeed is a good lock-opener, only his suicidal tendencies always drive me mad. For some weird reason he sometimes joins the fray even when I have ordered him to hold ground in a distance. Hell, why is this little moron using a kukri and not, as a smart thief in company of a real tank, a shortbow or light crossbow from far behind? Oh well

One remarkable thing though: My pally has a very low int and a high chr and a good persuade skill 4 or 6 ranks iirc and despite the sad fat that he can hardly speak he is pretty sucessful in persuading people to do something. That alone makes for a pretty unique char It's just a shame how many bad and nasty things he has to hear The brave soul has lawfulness 85, good 100

Maybe the lawfulness 85 have to do with his methodical approach to search the origin of the evil that haunts Neverwinter - house by house and chest by chest ... and when he enters a house in his quest to search for evil and gets attacked by guards - what shall he think except that they try to hide something from him, the clenched fist of goodness?

Ummmm. Just incase you didn't know, you can have your henchman use a ranged weapon or a melee weapon by talking to him...

ANYWAYS, I'm just playing as a strait forward fighter, I love having TOMI pick everyone off with his SHORT BOW...

I just used the "recomended" fighter stats, pumped up discipline, parry, and dumped some into persuade...

Thanks, I figured out myself about right now after I posted I think that Tomi is much more survivable now that he uses a bow

 

now my Ranger is lev 11 i've also got 1 lev in thief to pump up disarm trap and locate trap. it also lets me sneak attack now
and i put 1 lev in Fighter so i could specialize in my sword which gives me an extra attack.
when i went to lev 1 thief i picked up like 8 skill points to spread around which was really usefull. when i went to lev 1 fighter i only got 2..
I think i'm going to go back to leveling my Ranger again

 

I tried as much as possible to avoid min/maxing my character:

Gnolyn Talltalker
6th level Gnome Bard (CG)

STR 10
DEX 15
CON 12
INT 12
WIS 12
CHA 16

Main skills are Persuasion, Taunt, Concentration, Open Locks, Disable Device, Parry, Perform, and Spell Craft (plus a few others - love that about bards).

Don't remember the feats off-hand, other than skill focus (parry), and weapon finesse.

Main weapons are a mace (works with finesse), darts and a light crossbow (thinking of just ditching the crossbow).

He's a sneaky, manipulative little guy that tends to either really charm people, or get under their skin And he's very good at getting extra bits of information out of people. His spells are geared towards mostly defense and skill augmentation (e.g., Cat's Grace) with some offensive capabilities.
