In level two of the undermountain, where can I find the key for the third area(It is the northern one I believe). I have already succeeded in the first area, getting the dijin bottle and the first chain, and then defeating the shapeshifters to get the third chain and Linu. But no where in either of those area can I find a key that will open the last area for me? I would be very grateful for any help given.

*edit* Nm, after 2 hours of wandering around in the same area I finally found it. I didn't think to check the dead goblin's corpse.

    Ya!

It took me a long time finding the last chain also. This level is too big and tiring to walk around.

First I thought that I had to smash all the statues there (2 at each collidors) :D

Then the color levers (used to played by a goblin) in the Northern room confused me that the last one is hidden within. I gave up after trying all the combinations.

PS. anyone knows what's this for?

Hehe, the same place i got stuck for about half an hour. :)
Same... didnt bother to check the goblin corpse. Luckily it was the first thing i checked looking for the chain so it was no problem at all.

Saukoon - You mean the four colors on a pillar? and the well in the middle? Where you insert the chains i suppose
You just have to ring that color of chain which is shown above the well. You gotta be quick though - boots of speed on the same level help ;)

Is it me or is that a really lame puzzle? I mean, coloured rods that need inserting into a gateway to get it to open and all the rods just so happen to be lying around? What happened - they run out of ideas or something?

I hope the game gets better later on because nothing I've seen so far is really impressing me a whole lot.

No. What I meant was a small rooms in the North of Level 2, which you find 3 color levers on the ground.

I thought the puzzles were pretty entertaining. None were overly difficult, but they were just challenging enough to keep me going. There was only one thing that I couldn't figure out. The bomber area on the first level of the undermountain. I couldn't even figure out how to get there.

[IMG] My first character through there never found it, but supposedly if you do a Detect Mode pass down a dead end corridor nearby, a secret door shows up. It will be interesting this coming trip, with a newer character that (presently) has lower ranks in search than the first one.

To get to the bomber area, I tried all the teleports before going to the dead end beside the room for a last try.

For my Barbarian/BlackGuard character, it took a while in detect mode before the secret door revealed

To my disappointment, no good treasure in the bomber room.

I'm going to sound really lame asking this but how the hell do you defeat those bloody shapeshifters with a fighter PC?

Do you need a +3 weapon and above? I'm pounding on them repeatedly and they just won't drop.

Shapeshifters: Do you mean those Raksasa the changed to the form of slaves, in the room where Linu's body was kept?

I have no problem killing them with the talking sword. I think its a +4 longsword.

IMO some of the creatures have attributes that can only be hurt by weapon +n.. In this case, maybe its really +3

[IMG] Help!! I've fallen and I.... uh sorry...
I 'm stuck at the "well" and "chains". The chains are in place, I activate the well, then "chase" the chains until i get it wrong and the little wyvern comes out. I can't seem to get it right. Spent 2 hours so far on this stupid well/chain problem. Game is sarting to suck 'cuz of it.

Click on the pool of colors, memorize the sequence of colors, and then pull on the corresponding chains.

Each pull on a correct chain will be accompanied by a ringing sound.

Write it down if you must. :p :p

Been doing that. it says, "you pulled the chain and nothing happens now" ..or something like that. I thought I put the "chains" in right. As you cross the bride on the left is yellow (farther away) and Purple on the right is green (farther away) then red.
just got 1 thing to say "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH"

Click on the pool of colors first. Memorize the sequence of colors that appear above the pool. Then pull the chains in the corresponding sequence.

If you can't do that, uninstall the game and go play tetris.

I am trying really hard not to make a remark as vehement as yours according to forum rules.

One should not blame the game stupid or something if he/she was unable to solve a puzzle.

NWN puzzle is not tough generally. Just try to be more obsertive and logic, and solving the puzzles should not be a problem!

@Rav'n: write down the colours, then when the show is over you pull the chains.

    Worked for me anyways.

    Maybe it's a bug?

I just pulled the appropriate chains when the color was still shown above the pool. As long as it works ;)

Yea, for Raksasha you need +3 weapon. I couldnt with my neck-slicer (or whatever) but it went through with mace +3. :)

So do you need to pull the chains only when the colour is floating above the pool, or can it be at any time?

I've written down the sequence - which seems to be green, purple, green, yellow although the text says 6 colours are displayed. So either I need to take a colour blindness test or two colours aren't displaying.

BTW - where are the boots of speed? I've been over the whole level and not found them.

I didn't post a vehement reply. I am just frustrated that the problem is not solved. I have no problem figuring out the puzzle. and yes, I wrote down the FULL sequence of lights. I started another game so I can save "before" placing the chains. Remeber.."Don't Sweat the small stuff. When in doubt?...It's ALL small stuff!"

[IMG] Well, I am a little stuck here as well.
I can't find the yellow chain anywhere, I've been running up and down the level...
I got one from the Goblin, one from those Drow and one from the Rakshasa. What am I missing?
    Help would be appreciated.

Edit: Ah, ok, THAT Goblin! Nevermind... hehe...
