I'm about to finish chapter one. How easy to get are components for items in chapter 2? I've got one diamond and a couple of pieces of admaite spare. Plus a long sword and great sword to use them on.

Making the items is a luxury because I'm playing with a great axe- stone fire. I'm curious to try them.

How easy is it to get hold of diamonds and adamite in chapter 2? Would I be better offf holding onto them so I can make something better later?

Off the thread but- belt of inertial barrier? Is it worth buying? It was essential in BG2 but I was looking at the stats - still not understanmding the full 3 d+d workings of damage reduction and can't make up my mind.

Final question on components - all the components for the weapons I don't use - ironwood etc. Should I hoard it? Or should I make the flails, maces etc and sell them on???

You find more components later, but you should always hoard all of them, they're the rarest thing after all. And diamonds are very scarce throughout the game.

One point though... If you're a standard mage and have components for weapons you can't use (and armour), there's no point in hoarding that because it costs more to make the magic item with those components than you get back if you want to sell them later.

Um, actually for most components, you can make the finished weapon and sell it for substantially more than you could sell the base item and the component seperately. Of course, if you have to buy the base item rather than finding it, the equation changes. This is, of course, solely based on my limited experience, as I've been playing characters who get little or no benefit from the manufactured weapons and armor, specifically monk and sorcerer.

That's what I was talking about, buying the weapons first. I never had just the required AC armour or weapon on me. And playing a mage, as I was, I hardly found any magical fighter gear. And even if I did, I never hoarded it for later, because I needed space for other stuff, so I sold it on the spot.
