to help familiarize ourselves with how we are going to be playing once the game finally comes out I think we should let each other know what class and race of char. is our favorite to play as well as playing style.

I use half-elf(drow) druids and specialze in shapeshifting with very limited summoning. when I play I usually go for miele combat and cast a lot of spells that help the party like haste and holy might and things of that sort.

My character is human, a rogue with a possibility of multiclassing to wizard.
He works little combat, but specializes in working things out the peaceful way. I always had chars with strong areas are in int-related, cha-related, some dex-related skills, much less in str-related.

I'll be playing an elven sorcerer with a couple of nice feats and skills, possibly go for armoured spellcasting. Can't wait to see this implemented in NWN.

Thus far I used to play mostly specialist mages, and pure fighters on a couple occasions.

[IMG] I prefer to talk my way into and out of trouble, so I usually go for high CHA characters, Bards, Paladins or Sorcerers.
I'm certainly looking forward to the roleplay aspects as well as the melee side. We are going to need some stout fighters to ensure we survive the early days!

Well, for the start of the game at least, I'll be bringing back my favortite character, Xalen, a human fighter/mage. I'll probably take a few fighter levels, mostly mage levels. Will have higher dex and int, decent strength and const. I will wear armor, but only that which maximizes dex ac bonuses with the lowest chance of spell failure. I will probably take more protective spells, and nasty offensive ones. Summoning spells aren't my favorite thing really. I also plan to dual wield a bastard sword with probably a short sword. I'll enter combat, hopefully without getting smacked around too much, but naturally I'd rather stand back and cast away with my spells.

what type of parties does everyone like to be in? I generally try to get a lot of spell casters because summonings can be used for the melee combat most of the time I've found
I like to have my PC and a few summoned elementals up front doing the melee while a few of my spellcasters hit me up with things like haste and holy might and the others go offense

I'll be playing Vandriel, Elven Ranger, but I'm thinking of adding a few levels of Fighter if she lives that long. I'll just have to see how things play out. I've never really played magic users, but the sorcerer's gonna be my 2nd choice. (I don't have a whole lot of faith my ability to stay alive, so I'd better start creating characters now. :D )

[IMG] I like halflings .... and given my char will be accepted I will play a halfling rougue-fighter ... I try to achieve weapon finesse in daggers or shortswords (if that works) and to specialise in shortbows so straight melee seems not to become my fighting style of choice. Anyway, for me it proved to be healthy to develop stealth abilities first ... ;)

And when he dies gloriously I'll probably switch over to something "substantial", a halfling figher :D ;)

[IMG] I'll be starting play with a human cleric in NWN. I enjoy a lot of character interaction, talking, meeting, and ploting. I will fight anyone or anything if needed but not out of choice. My character would rather orginize and cast spells to aid other party members. I doubt I'll take any combat related feats, using my feats and most of my skill for divine and diplomicy abilities.

I'll play a human sorcerer. He's young and ready to go on adventure, with the aid of friends. Melee is strange to him, he has always relied on his spells. Now he's to meet the real world...

I'll start as Liam, human Ranger, and when he dies (in about 12.5 minutes) I'll keep him as a board persona, but I think I'll try a rogue type char.

    What's a 'board persona'?

Edit: Oh wait, you mean a character which you only use to play on this board? If so: silly me...

I will be playing a human ranger, with the possibility of taking a few rogue levels along the way. The weapons I'll be using will be longsword in main hand and knives or shortsword in off hand.

[IMG] My character should be a chaotic good 19 year old halfling rouge Named Tasohan Duurham who walks around in the city of Arabel mourning over his dead parents who where caught and executed due to stealing.
Tasohan is always on lookout for adventure (and money ;))
Oh by the way Hello to everyone :D

    Greetings to you 'swell.

/me thinks 19 years is kind of yound for a halfling :)

I've just thought that humans taking a level of rogue before muticlassing will have quite a load of skillpoints. Nay, then I'll start in ALFA as a pure neutral human wizard/abjurer (Hope he ain't dieing soon, I still want to be reasonably peaceful :p) 'cause of my recently developed 'pacifist wizard' playing style. :)

whats wrong with a 19 yr old halfling? What do they magically skip to a ripe old age upon birth? its nice to see younger halflings than usual, variation is good.

Wht was meant is that 19 years is kind of young for a class halfling. They dont magically skip anywhere, but at this age halflings should be helping their community planting eggplants in the backyard, playing with other little halflings or do something alike :)
