I need help beating Meldanen (sp?)'s apprentice! I've tried for quite a while. Quite a while. Even when I respawn like mad I can't beat him! Argh!!

Anyway. Ahem. I am a level 3 (yes, level 3) sorcerer with Linu and a Pixie at my side. I have tons of potions (I rarely use them anyway, but I might need them...potions of barkskin, light heal, moderate heal, fox's cunning, invisiblity...) and some scrolls. What I can't really beat is his ice-fall-from-above spell. You know? They smash me and Linu to oblivion as I respawn...get smashed...and respawn. Any strategys?

I'm gonna go try turning the diffculty down a bit. ARGH!

Level 3? You mean level *3*? Wow. Ok, here's what you must do: First, possess your familiar so that she's the one going in first and getting hit by the ice storm. Right after that run in with Linu (change Linu's tactics so that she goes melee) and shoot at the apprentice like hell.

    Level 3...?!

    Level *3*? Hrm ...

ANyhoo, you should do as the above poster mentioned ... another poosibility being that you could change henchmen ... Grimgnaw / the barbarian might suit your pruposes better at this point of time. And if you have spells like endurance / bull's str do use them on your henchman.

    GL!

PS you might want to consider running around killing little mobs till you level ... might help a *little* bit :p

Ah well, I killed that apprentice. Ain't that cool. Now I'm having trouble with Maldenan himself. Guess I'll kill some thief in the docks.

I honestly don't know how you made it that far in the game at that level, but perhaps I can offer some advice on Meldanen. You should be able to find a silence scroll pretty easily. Use that on him. Worked like a charm for me, I was a bit higher though, so it probably worked slightly better.

Other than that, try doing the jail and beggars nest quests first. That should make you more than a match for him.
