[IMG] Well, I actually never heard of this game, so what's it all about?

Is it AD&D like Baldur's Gate?

Is it worth buying and when's it coming out in Europe? Are there any websites about this game?

Who's creating it? Who's publishing it?

    That's about it... Thanks :)

[IMG] It's (A)D&D but not quite like BG, it uses 3rd edition rules and a new 3D engine.
Schedule world wide release is sept 2001.
It's by Bioware/Black Isle who have never made a bad game.
The great thing about it is, once you have played the 'boxed' game it doesn't have to end. You can plug in whenever you want via your modem to a persistent 24/7 world filled with ~ 500 other players and the game continues - for as long as you want.
Check out the links on sorcerers page for more info.
We are hosting our own little corner of tis world here, via the adventuring guild of AORTA.

I am not familiar with AD&D expect from Baldur's Gate, so what is the difference between the rules? Huge differences/Small differences?

And seeing what you posted, it's an online-only game, right?

There are quite a few differences, but just as in Baldur's Gate, you as the player are insulated from quite a bit of it, and what you need to know will no doubt be in the manual.

As far as NWN being online-only, no it's not; it has a single-player mode. But it is being developed with multi-player in mind as it's main mode of operation.

[IMG] The story, however, is the same for single and multi player versions. The real fun of multiplayer is when you join up with a group that is creating persistant online worlds for Never Winter Nights, such ALFA, or find other web sites that have created their own scernario to play using the game. I'd suggesst looking under Sorcerer's community section, fan sites, and check out the A Land Far Away link. They, so far as I've heard, have the most ambitious Never Winter Nights project going. They plan to create a persistant online version of the entire forgotten realms game world using Never Winter Nights. I'd highly recommend checking it out as that, my friend, is where the true fun of NWN will lie.

Wow!! This is a must-buy, I think this game will be big.

But what exactly is Neverwinter Nights?

I reckon that it's another part of The Forgotten Realms, just like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale.

[IMG] You are correct. I suggest you check out the NWN FAQ which will answer 90% of your questions.

Here, answer to your last one:

2.03 - In what area of the Forgotten Realms will Neverwinter Nights take place?

The official Neverwinter Nights campaign takes place in the north regions of the Forgotten Realms, along the windswept and rocky coastline of the Sea of Swords. The territory covered by the campaign ranges from the fair city of Neverwinter along the southern edge to historic Luskan along the north. The cities of Baldur's Gate and Athkatla lie far to the south and, in order to reach the fabled towns of Icewind Dale, one must still pass through a treacherous mountain range known as The Spine of the World. The game will include everything necessary to create the area surrounding Neverwinter, including urban centers, forest and grassland terrain, numerous types of dungeons, good and evil castles, rural hamlets, and vast subterranean caverns. We hope to make further tilesets available following our initial release.
