I already posted a thread about this on the Bio Support Boards, but I'm including it here so that you know what you might have to deal before you go and update.

After upping to v1.26, I can no longer load saved games without my computer crashing. I can start new games just fine, but cannot load games at all. The bar gets part of the way through, then my comp freezes up and CrashGuard appears. Sometimes Norton can get me past and into the game, sometimes not and I have to reboot and fix my hard drive.

I finally downloaded the revert patch, hopefully it will rid me of these problems.

This must be a rare thing, since I haven't heard anyone else complaining about it. Anyway, you should have all Norton and whatever stuff turned off when you play these games anyway. They cause more problems than not.

How did you get your patch? I have found that if I let the patch come over my 56K, it will get screwed up and cause my computer to freeze up. I had the problem intermitantly on 1.23, got worse on 1.24 and I couldn't play or update on 1.25. I did download the patch from my computer at work and put it in the patch file in the game and did the update from there. (after deinstalling the game and reinstalling v 1.1). It works great now.

Eh, the connection speed certainly has no effect on the patch itself, not unless you have a connection that keeps breaking up, but in that case you couldn't have gotten the whole thing in the first place.

There could be bugs with patches over writing each other. Or at least something were the patches arent fitting together very well. It's just a thought.

The only problem I've had with patching is that the one off of the Bioware server usually fails to decompress and I have to grab the one from the Infrogrames server, which takes forever.

Tal-I do turn Norton off. Problem is, there's a bug in it that causes it to turn itself on whenever it detects a crash. The game crashes either way regardless.

I haven't seen the problems with patches overwriting each other, although 1.25 is really screwy in itself, so you don't really want that one.

I've had the same problem with some saved games. I don't know what's up, but about every other save game I make causes this. It's not just a chance of it happening on load; I have certain saves that crash every time, and others that never crash.

All of mine crash with the patch, and don't without it.
