    [IMG] Hi All,

I have been searching on this for the last couple of minutes but can't find an exact answer.

I am trying to load an old game on a new hard drive. I have the "saves" folder but I have also read in some posts about character files. Where would I find these? I looked in servervault but since I don't play online, I guess I wouldn't have anything there. I am worried if I try to open my old game and it needs the character files I'll be out of business.

Thanks for any help you can give,

    oddbean

The character files should be in your main NWN folder, probably uner «vault» or «character vault». If you bring both the saves and the character on your new hardrive, nothing should go wrong.

    Hi Ofelix,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

How about "localvault"? I think I see my characters name in there. Are character files *.bic?

[IMG] Correct on both counts. Back up the entire "localvault" directory; your offline character(s) will be in there. And yes, the files will have the name of your character and the .bic extension.

Backing up all the .ini files in the main NWN directory is also a good idea. You don't really need them, but they might come in handy for checking how you've had certain settings on your old install, and all the game keys will be handy in nwncdkey.ini.
