hey all, I was wondering if some of you would be able to help me out with my PS2. I have a VERY strange problem, whenever I try to play certain games, the game will begin to load up, and then go back to the browser screen. I have experienced this with red faction, SSX tricky, Baldurs gate: dark alliance and shadow hearts. but I have only experienced it reliably with BG:DA and Shadow hearts, on the others it only does that occaisionally. all of the games work on other playstations, I have tried cleaning the disks and cleaning the lens of my PS2. I keep my PS2 standing upright (ie, vertically). thanks,

well i checked your profile and your e-mail's got middlesex in it so i'm guessing you're in UK.
10% of all PAL PS2s made in UK were faulty, whether they were faulty when you bought it or just went faulty they were badly made. I've had a friend's do this too. It's your DvD scanner. Basiclly it's not reading your discs properly. The only thing you can do is send it to be fixed. The exact same thing has happened to me but, i got it fixed by EB.
    Hope this helps,
PM me if you want more detail.

well i wouldn't really know how much it would cost in US, possibly around $80-$100 but i know that this is probably your problem, a load of NTSC PS2s had the exact problem as PAL ones though in a smaller number.
