OK, I'm still recovering from the "rate my poo" site. That was nasty. nasty nasty nasty.

I liked the coconut song though. Reminds me of Maxwells Silver Hammer.

Yes. It's based on a formula. The math equation (think of a 2 digit number, add them both together and subtract from the original number) can only produce a certain number of outcomes. Do it again, and next time look around the board and see if there are more of the same symbol you picked. If you apply the same formula you get the same result with them too. Took me a minute too the first time I saw this done on a different site (that looked better than this one, I might add).

Yeah, understand that there are actually only 5 different symbols that come come from using the formula with any two digit number, just seems like the crystal ball could only have a 1 in 5 chance everytime. Maybe I haven't slept enough lately.

Further to D.R.'s reply, no matter what 2 digit number you choose, the answer will always be a multiple of 9. If you look at the chart, all of these multiples have the same symbol.

Couldn't figure it out at first, although I've had a think about it (having seen a fixed version of it beforehand - which did look really crap).

    Anyway the solution:

Esentially you can only end up with a number of results from taking the sum of the digits from the original number. These are from 0 to 81 the numbers divisible exactly by 9.

Now when you reload you'll get a different symbol predicted, this happens because when you reload it alters the images around - seems random, although those by a number divisible by 9 (except 90 and 99) will always be the same.

Because you'll tend not to look in the same place, the effect will be to pick different symbols without realising that had you stuck with the same number actually come up with a different result.

@ Death Rabbit - that rate a Mullet site is a hoot although some of the people look like they could get jobs posing as mutants for Fallout. :D I wonder if anyone has tried to submit a photo of Jaromir Jagr.

Oh, and I ranked at 35 words per minute on the typing test. I was quite impressed at this but the site seemed to think I could use some improvement. Of course I am normally thinking, composing, editing etc. while I type so I tend not to need that sort of speed.
