jack went to see jill after visiting a fortune teller named mystic.
jack tells jill that mystic was so good at what she does, and that every predictions she made about him came true.
jack ask jill to give mystic a try.
jill said... "bah, i don't believe in those mambo-jambo stuff."
jack said okay... if mystic made a single wrong predictions to jill, he will pay the bill. otherwise, jill will pay for the fortune telling.
    jill agrees.

jack and jill went to see mystic.
mystic says... "ah, jack and jill, i can see in my crystal ball that you have made a wager. but don't you worry jill, jack is gonna pay for my service. and that is my prediction."

    and the problem:

who should pay the fortune teller? is it jack? or is it jill?

Jack should punch the old bat!

Your problem though cannot be solved. Resort to violence I suggest.

It depends on if she makes any other predictions as well. :)

I say play paper, rock, scissors, best two out of three, before resorting to violence on the outcome, meanwhile allowing the mystic to steal both their wallets and leave them pennieless.:spin:

[IMG] Jack should pay. Afterall he said that any of her predictions about him was right, and he doesn't want to spoil his own illusion.

So nomatter if Jill should have paid or not, he will pay. Even if mystic hasn't made any false prediction which indicates that Jill should pay. And as Arabwel says. He is a guy. They always pay....

In reality nomatter who pays, it doesn't add up. What to learn. Never trust an old wench with a weird name and a fortune to tell. Only if she is green, talks funny and lives in a small hut on Dagobah.

Today is Yoda's Birthday by the way. He says Hi. He has even baked some force-cookies, not fortune cookies. ;)

ladies and gentlemen, i think we all know that there is no straight answer (except those "out of the box" answers) to the trick question. but i enjoyed your answers. flip coins, "paper, scissors, and rock", and the "violent reactions", he he he. :D

do you people enjoy such "stupid" (to some) or "brilliant" (to others) type of questions? if so let me know so i or anyone else out there can post it.

It was funny, I like such teasers although this one didn't have much hardcore thinking.. But :thumbs up:
