    But seriously, in BG1, rangers are awesome due to the extra atack they get as long as they do not have shields.
    Fighters are even better considering that Weapon Grandmastery is awfully powerful in BG1.
    Mages..leave a bit to be desired..due to the XP cap.
    With no Carsomyr or Pale Justice in BG1, there really is no incentive to play one of those shiny tin cans who wield 2 handed swords to hide their insecurity about the size of what lies in their pants.

    Definitely fighter classes - AND YES! - dc fighter-thiefs (lvl-6 fighter/* thief) are really awesome in BG-1 - with backstabbing
    and grandmastery they can do the whole work alone in all these dungeons there - and you can keep Drizzts armor in BG-1 ... :D

    Second are IMHO mc mage-thiefs for they can sneak through the dungeons and roast these kobolds with fireballs and magic missiles :D

    In BG-1 Pallys are pretty weak.

    Paladins are great they are like a better version of the Fighter/Cleric.......but i have to admit that their greatness does not shine out till Baldurs Gate 2.
