    A poll?
My pick be the first Gate. Low level characters be the greatest advantage of it if compared to the second Gate, non-player personnae and the plot make Gate so sweeter than the Dale... What of Planescape, I couldn't go futher than character creation, no I can't play this heh... :D

I think, when all is said and done, my favourite has to be Planescape:Torment. While it doesnt have the flexibility of the Baldur's Gate games or Icewind Dale in terms of party composition etc, the role-playing experience of Torment is, IMHO, currently unrivalled. The story was haunting and emotionally evocative and kept me playing to the wee small hours of the morning. Baldur's Gate 2 (especially with the addition of TOB; gotta love the power  ) comes in a near second with its also excellent plot and NPC interaction.

Though all the other games have their advantages, I have to say that PST is by far the best. IMHO it just blows every other game out of the water.

I agree, PST is the best. Best storyline, coolest setting and characters, plus awesome cinematics IMO. And Planescape is just my fav setting.

[IMG] PST, especially the first time i played it. That story is just so engrossing, and watching it unfold is what makes the game so good.:) Since the emphasis was on roleplaying and not hack and slash might have swayed my opinion a bit too lol.

    Planescape:Torment

The search for forums about it actually led me to this site. I hate d&d, but PT is still keeping me here...

    Planescape:Torment

I believe it has the best story. The character "the Nameless One", is the best one I've played. The setting (Sigil) is also out of this world, literally and figuratively. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that there will be few, if any who have played Planescape: Torment and not pick it to be the best Infinity Engine game so far. And MAYBE... CRPG's in general. :)

[IMG] Seems this time there will be again one true winner of this poll: Planescape Torment. I wish they would contract the same storywriters and made a sequel, to bad that's not gonna happen :wail:

I still have to finish the game though, there was always something that kept me from finishing it, and I started over again and again (reading to much spoilers on these boards is one of them) My own fault, you always warn for them, but I read them anyway :D

Najs! I get to explain why BG1 is the best. Just the story, and the sense of free adventuring.

[IMG] From the list, I like BG2 and Torment best.
Both are great games and I can't really make up my mind which one is better. But, since BG2 has no votes, I'll cast mine for it.

I prefer BG2... despite the chapter organizational boundaries being more unclear than other games, I find it has the most depth of programming, provides the most opportunites for role playing and generally has maintained my interest longer than the other games listed. BG1 would be my second choice.

Well I was going to post a new topic about this and I thought hey there might already be a topic about this. So what is your favirote topic now you can add Icewind Dale 2 into the choices.
I personly like Icewind Dale the best so far I havn't tried Baldur's Gate 2 or Icewind Dale 2 yet though.

*Tosses his hat into the Planescape: Torment pile of agreement*

I've played ever game that uses the infinity engine and this one stands out the most. Its just so freakin' amazing. Funny thing is, it was the last game I played. So I was in the dark for quite some time. I would have said BG1 at the original time of this topic.
