So nice to follow in Sir Bel's footsteps(grumble, grumble). Anyway, I am Crawl. I assume most of you veterans know me by now (better!!), so this is for you who don't. I registered here in October, but have been enjoying Tal's site since the BG days. Obviously, I like all Black Isle/Bioware games that I've played, though I am open to any RPG that fits my bill. I also like strategy/empire building games. I've never played a PnP game or read a fantasy novel. I'm from Louisiana, USA, and have recently opened and am Executive Chef of Pizza Kitchen No. 1. My turn ons are several hot women on these boards and my turn offs are Palidans like Bel and apprentice wizards like BTA(LOL :D sorry guys, just kidding). Well what else can I say other than I have developed a liking for stupid posts but can be a real help with any game I've played. Continue the posting!!

hello, I am Vandalore, others may know me as BHuntR. I reside in Des Moines, IA. I'm currently employed (although very unhappy) and attending a 2 year tech school to obtain my a degree in Information Technology & on my way towards MSCE certification if money permits. My future is unwritten and I have no ties to keep me in any particular place. However, I fear lack of direction, but love the absense of being responsible for anyone but yourself.

I came to know Sorcerer- (Taluntain) back in the irc days some years ago. Vaguely I remember randomly typing in #baldursgate because the game interested me. In the years since, I have been involved in trying new style of AD&D, including the ancient P&P game. I'm not currently playing about every third week, or whenever I get the chance. My favorite character is either a Theif/Mage and also the new Sorcerer class. Uhm yeah, c u.

    Checking in...

I picked my name for this board from the name of my fighter/thief I was playing in BG1 when I first posted a question. Get it? BOW-ie! He used a bow! :) Uh, whatever. I also have played a Monk in BG2 named Kee. Get it? Monk Kee? Sorry...

Anyway, I just got to chapter 5 in IWD which I consider a major accomplishment. Using only 4 characters to boot.

    Let's see, there's Redline - the goodie-two-shoes Paladin.
Julie Ruin - my chaotic-neutral dwarf fighter/cleric. She just loves a good fight; likes to go in swinging and worries about the heal spells later.
Mr. Klaw - the neutral-evil halfling fighter/thief who just tags along for the loot (and the occasional chance to backstab.)
and Ui - she's the chaotic-good half-elf cleric/mage who stays aloof and in the background, lending a prayer or chant to assist the others as needed (plus the occasional area effect spell when it looks like they're in a jam :)).
I don't think the four of them like each other too much, but they work well as a team and that's why they stick together.

Let's see, I'm from IL,USA; the BG and IWD games mark my return to D&D after at least a 15 year absence; and my first love is First person shooters- but Clive Barker's Undying has been sitting on my hard drive, neglected, as all my time on my computer lately has been put toward IWD. And after IWD I'm going back and finishing both BGates.

Oh well here goes, anything for the spirit of the community. I first noticed this site when I got into Planescape Torment and was looking for screensavers and wallpapers etc. I liked the place as it carried a lot of info and was easy to navigate around (unlike many similar sites). Anyway, I popped back occaisionally to check the news and things but only really got involved when I started using the message boards to get help on BG2. At that point I signed on.....

Favourite games include: pretty much anything from Bioware, Hidden & Dangerous, System Shock 2, NOLF.... and on and on. I tend to alternate between FPS and RPG. Saying that, the games I've probably spent the most time on are X-Wing, Civilisation and Grand Prix 1.

I used to read a wide range of books (Dickens through to Milligan) but tend to find I have to read too much for work now. Consequently, I tend to only read lightweight stuff for pleasure now - Pratchett, StarWars books, etc and have just started the Wheel of Time series. For films, I like gently humour (Harvey), Clint Eastwood westerns, Disney Cartoons (Jungle Book) and all time fav, lead my life by, StarWars.

Workwise I've reached a bit of a crossroads. I started in commercial insurance then went and did a degree in manufactuirng mangement, them worked for a few companies until finally running a couple of factories, got stressed and bored, got a research and teaching position at University, enjoyed that, did a Masters and a Doctorate, got burned by external examiner on my doctorate, left to set up my own training/consultantcy business, had a shity 18 months. SO....currently I'm finishing off my outstanding comitments (co-writing a book) and making changes to my doctorate. After that is out of the way, I don't know. I think I need a complete change and to do something that I enjoy again (who cares about the money). As to what that might be, I wonder if Bioware need someone to make the coffee......

Hello i'm Bogi, a nick, shortening my surname since schooldays. I'm living near Vienna, Austria working in softwaredesign for the treasury department for 15 Years.

I love to read books and let me fall into strange worlds like Mallorea or Middle Earth.
I also love a certain kind of humor for instance the books of Douglas Adams.

The same counts on computer games not all serios like Zork, Monkey Island, Kings Quest etc.. yea...I refused to play D&D games on PC 'till BG striked me like a bolt :) the first one that works in a way i imagined a game should do..and questions on BG led me to you....

Hm... It's quite snowy outside. The wind actually makes the snowflakes fall _upwards_. I'm bound to break something on my way home from work. Niiice! I work as a system consultant, btw, and have a Masters in Computer Science (Telematics, to be precise). I live in Trondheim, Norway.

Anyway, I first started visiting this site last year when playing BG2 (Looking for walkthroughs, clues & whatnot), but I didn't register until early this month when re-playing Torment for the N-th time.

RPG-wise, I mostly play bards (C/N), and sometimes thieves. (I tried the sorcerer class in BG2, and that was amusing, but it's not quite like playing a bard... :) )
Seric's the name of my bard. (He's a hunk of a man, with a twinkle in his eye no woman could ever resist :p)

"Recent" games I actually enjoyed are the BG-series, Torment, X-COM (Ufo: Enemy unknown), Starcraft & Rogue Spear.

    (...grrr... annoying spelling errors...)

Guess it is morning call time (I don't know the correct military term, so please enlighten me) :D

Got to the boards in June 2000 looking answers for IWD. Signed in in July. Been off the boards for 5 months (had a very strong relatinship with a girl), returned back after getting BG2 as a present on my birthday.
I love this place. Tal and BTA and Darien and every old-timer and newbie here - you do a very good job. Got good internet connection at home so now I visit the boards twice a day - at work and at home.

Keep up the good stuff - this is an answer to the thread where we discuss pictures, livening up and stuff. :cool

[IMG] Hi, I'm Wassup, 25 from Montréal.
My fav games: BG2, Unreal Tournament. And I'm waiting for Tribes 2 !

Usually in RPG, my fav is a fighter or anybody who can carry a big shiny armor with a big damn sword (or axe).

For now, i'm just waiting for that stupid snow to melt so i can go rollerblading. I work full time as a production planner and i go to school at night. I will mary my fiancee next year: I've just ask her in november.

    next. :)

    Bore da

I'm me and I've been 19 for a few weeks now. I was born in Wales but my parents are English. I am currently writing a book and spending too much time doing nothing. At the moment I am working as a webpage designer and getting qualifications to go to Uni to do Radio, Film and Television studies. I like loud music, I play guitar and have an unhealthy fascination for Bruce Willis's vests :) what else? erm...my favourite colour is purple, and I would like to own a monkey but think they look better in the wild. I can drink strong spirits straight from the bottle without dying, I can do the splits, and I could annoy a def, blind, unconcious person amongst my many talents :p
I play a chaotic good thief and look forward to playing with some of you online ;)

    Afternoon,

My name is Voltric, I'm from Boston, Mass USA. I got the name 'Voltric' from a Live action RPG I play for about 5 years.

In D&D I usually play; clerics, Paladins, and Druids.

My favorite games are; Most RTS games, XCON, and most CRPGs.

In first found this site when I was looking for info on BG last May. I've enjoyed all of the Interplay RPGs, except PST. I never got into that one.

    Heay all,

been here on and off for nearly a year I guess. Must say both this site in general as these boards in specific absolutely rock, now more then ever apparently ;)

Anyway, I'm 19, and spend most of my days in Antwerp or Ghent, two of the most beautiful cities in the world :) or at least in Belgium. I'm still studying, although what exactly is a tale too long to fit in this post. Not a professional sportsman as herf is, but I'm quite satisfied with what I've achieved in tennis so far.

PC Games.. hmm, before I discovered BG and the joys of AD&D I was very fond of the good old Sierra-adventures like Quest for Glory, Robin Hood and LS Larry. And the Warlords-series, which must be one of my alltime favorites. And the CMs of course, can't count the weeks I've wasted on that game. But since BG I've only played that game, and most other Interplay-RPGs. Hopefully NWN'll be the crown on their work.

I guess Bards and Paly's are my favorite characters to play, although those 3E Monks and Rogues look darn cool. Definetly gonna try one of those in NWN.

Hmm, enough rambling for now.. not to mention I'm out of inspiration :)

I'm Mathetais (which is Koine Greek for Disciple).

    I live in Chicago, IL

Turn ons include long walks on the beach, a good Chardonnay, and good SF books or games. ;)

I'm married, have a 4 1/2 month old daughter, and currently work in Major Market Sales for an ASP / Telecom Company.

My chosen career path is to be a full time cleric (no, really!) I have my Master's of Divinity and was the pastor of a church for 4 years. My current sales job is (hopefully!!!) going to help me save enough jink so that I can plant a church in my neighborhood. I'm very spiritual, but also not very religious, so I don't fit into your "typical church".

I normally play Paladin's, but enjoy a good Ranger/Archer every now and then.
