Well my peers go tanning. In a tanning booth, bed, or whatever you want to call it. I do too sometimes when the weather is junk. But some people think its weird for males to go. Do you think its only for females or both, males and females?

I think that both males and females can use the tanning booths. I mean, I don't know about you ladies out there, but a well-tanned guy is pretty attractive. And the tanning booths a good way to get tan without turning into a crispy critter by the harsh sun. Besides, Lord knows that some of you guys out there need a little tan anyways. You're so light you can blind somebody if they look too hard. Hee hee hee

 

I once worked in a mall at a store a few doors down from a tanning salon. There was this really cute girl who worked in there and we always said hi when we passed eachother. So I made an appointment to get a tan. Gave me more of an opportunity to open a dialogue with her.

 

At summertime I always try to get tanned, but.....

 

Where's the option for neither?

 

I hate artificial tanning on females. Unless it's done well enough almost to deceive me. Almost. Because I'll always know.

Now males in tanning tubes? That's just not right.

 

I am not a fan of tanning salons for anyone but I don't see any reason why gender should be an issue. Personally, I prefer my skin nice and pasty white.

 

I think that both males and females can be vain. Why restrict artificial tanning to one or the other?

Spending hours in the sun hauling crates or trekking over harsh terrain should give you a tan. Albeit a 'skin flakes off and blood starts oozing out from the cracks' kinda tan.

Of course, only the exposed parts of your body are tanned. Hence, everyone in my platoon has a brown face, brown hands but are pasty white everywhere else.

Except for the only Indian guy. (No racism meant, of course)

 

I'm naturally dark-skinned and the only thing I need to do to get a tan is go to the beach and swim around for a few hours. I don't burn. I'm quite lucky.

 

I'm a Pasty-white Princess and take steps to stay that way - minimum of SPF 15 for me! I actually have a scar on my back from a severe sunburn I got in 1990. Repeating that experience is not something I want to do, and since I generally burn before I tan, I'll just stay pale, thankyouverymuch.

If I really need some color, there's always this alternative.

 

I am the original fair-haired boy...I get burned if I sit under a reading lamp. I actually have to buy the children's waterproof strength SPF35!!!!

 

What the hell am I doing here my skin's the colour of an oak.
But as far as the skin colour is concerned, it's hard to accept as natural the rich pink the foriegners here turn into. Looks like they have been dipped in strawberry sauce.
If tanning is a way of ensuring that does not happen, go ahead guys. Atleast before going to places where intense heat is the order of the day as it can ward off all the skin irritations and rashes that will otherwise become inevitable.

@Shura:If you mean us it couldn't be possible for we guys here to have pasty skin, so no probs.

 

Guess I'm not, then. I am fair-haired, but I hardly get a sunburn. I'm getting dark pretty quick and I don't use a 'SunSimulator'. I don't like fake tan, unless someone has a good reason to do it, like docter's advice...

Two questions I despise after being in the sun:
MoN, did you color your hair? It's so light...
MoN, have you been on (in, at, under or what) the tanning booth?

Argh..

Only women or men and women both?
Neither of them (or just both)

 

Usually I don't get a tan, and when I do it's barely noticable. I spend most of my time indoors, but since my friend got their puppy, I'm spending more time outdoors looking after and playing with it. So my arms are tanned. That's basically it.

 

Ok first of all i can't think myself getting in a tanning booth. I'm dark complexioned and i only need a couple of hours under the sun to have a very good tan. But on the other hand i can't imagine why should this be a thing only for women or men and not for both. There is my answer and question at the same time
