[IMG] For whatever reason, license plate slogans catch my eye. So let's hear them.

Here in B.C. it reads "Beautiful British Columbia"

Here in Quebec, they read "Je me souviens" which basically translates into "I remember myself." How idiotic.

I saw a rather amusing one over here, in the UK, the other day. It read...

    W745 OGJ

    What a laugh!

But seriously, i did once see "ORC" and "NWN" which improved my day greatly.

No, that would be "Je m'en souviens" a subtle difference, but one that drastically changes the meaning. They should have just left it as "La Belle Province."

No, Faerus is right, it's not reflexive, unusually for a pronomial verb, so the "se" part of the verb "se souvenir" applies to the subject, not the object of the verb. It conjugates exactly like the verb "se mefier" and "Je me mefie" does not mean "I am wary of myself"! The "me" simply reflects in whose mind the remembrance is occurring. Talk to your French teacher for clarification as it's one of those esoteric grammar points best left to the experts. But I do agree that it's a strange slogan and Quebec is definitely beautiful!

I concede defeat. The more I think about it, you're right. "Je me souviens quand...." makes sense. Still a stupid slogan. :)

    "Life's a b*tch and then you die"

It wasn't a licence plate but a bumper sticker so does it count still?

I just saw the other day a customized one that read "DUMMY". How'd you like to drive behind him? ;)

We have no logos on our number plates. I think they've barred any additional writing as it can obscure the number when big brother takes our picture with his damned speed cameras. ;)

If bumper sticker style stuff counts, how about a biker with a T-Shirt which on the back has "If you can read this, then the bi**h has fallen off."

NC is "First in Flight" Georgia is "Georgia on my mind" (which I suppose is better than the more appropriate "we have tons of bugs!" or "Our major city is the stripping capital of the world!")
I have a bumper sticker that says "one by one the penguins steal my sanity" And they do. Damn waterfowl.

Well heck, if we can do bumper stickers too- My favorites were on a rainbow-flag bedecked jeep driven by a lesbian friend of mine that said, respectively, "Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman" (the slogan of a deodorant company taken wildly out of context) and "Real women prefer fish to beef". I laughed every time I saw her car.

Darn right. Actually, the newer PA license plates don't have a slogan on them. It just reads Pennsylvania along the top and Car or Truck along the bottom.

I'd assume that he learned to drive in Pennsylvania.

If bumper sticker stuff counts, the back of a truck in front of me last night said "The closer you get, the slower I go."
