    Then I ask:

    "But heyyy, Pal! You know what, I, too, were wondering..." And that goes on for a while.

    What a silly question! Useful information could be directions to the nearest bathroom, the time the next train leaves, or that someone has a hole in her stockings. Little things like that happen every day - or are you looking for something bigger?

    Since you asked, what I think of the subject is that it makes no bloody sense. It would be like asking "have you ever crossed a street?" I get the feeling that you are aiming at some different sort of question, but the question as it stands is incomprehensible.
