    I own the original 5CD Baldur's Gate + TotSC, and I was wondering if it is possible for me to burn all of them onto one DVD-R so I don't have to constantly CD swap during gameplay. Is this possible or not? If so, is there anything special I have to do? If anyone can shed any light on this I'd greatly appreciate it.

    You shouldn't need to swap CDs if you do a full install; you would only need to keep TotSC in the drive.

    hmm, I'm pretty sure I've always done full installs, and I have to start the game with Disc 6 (TotSC) in, and then I have to continue swapping as usual when I enter new areas. I know for my BG2 when I do a full install, I don't have to CD swap, but I've never found a way for my BG1.

    Perhaps you need to edit the Baldur.ini file. Sometimes the path to the data resources keep pointing at the CD drive, rather than at the BG folder in your hard disk. For instance:

    [Alias]
    HD0:=c:bad:games\BG1\
    CD1:=d:bad:CD1\
    CD2:=d:bad:CD2\
    CD3:=d:bad:CD3\
    CD4:=d:bad:CD4\
    CD5:=d:bad:CD5\
    CD6:=d:bad:CD6\

    By full install you need to select custom install and select every feature/area. There is no option to full install, only recommended and custom. You also need to do this for TotSC.

    Yeah it works, thanks for the help guys. Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to burn them all onto one DVD-R without having to do anything special?

    Synergy: Yes, none of the BG1 cd's nor expantiopack have any copyprotections on them, and the "cd detection" is based on identifying "files" in the cd drive. I have custom made a own DVD with all BG1 cds 1-5 + cd6 expantion pack, and can play the entire game with expantion pack from that single dvd. (done same to BG2 and pst, but dont get the Bg2 expantionpack to work becose of copyprotection etc and identifying).

    The install program maps al paths in baldur.ini from where it was installed from so its not difficult.
