    Anyone know any good websites to learn php? I want to design my own website but need to learn php to do it.

    It has to be php as my mate has a php site and has offered me some of his code if i want it. Plus, he knows php and can help me when i'm stuck. However, he can't teach me php as he has too much stuff to do. Thus, i need to find places to learn from.

    The best site is www.php.net, the home of php, it shows how to use php, all the php commands, and had user comments on the commands

    Thorin is very right that http://www.php.net is a good reference and starting point. I would suggest that you purchase a book, as it's more wise to invest in something you have in a hard copy, that you can always reference to, and probably more easily learn from. I would suggest Professional PHP4 Programming.

    Thanks, i'll be sure to look into these. I had a brief browse at php.net before while trying to find the downloads needed for my machine to be able to run php. But i had brain-ache at the time, so didn't get very far.
