I used to use ICQ which was great for conferencing with my editor and writer and sending them files (I draw comics). But cellphone is much handier.

 

I use Trillian

 

MSN purely because I know a lot of people who use it. I needed use AIM the other day to help a guy out, and thought it was rather good, but since I don't know anyone who uses it, it's rather pointless.

 

MSN, because the people I want to talk with use it...
Always used ICQ before, but the list got to long.

 

None, they all suck imo.

Not out of free will though, it are my friends who consequently refuse to explore beyond MSN that force me to use it. Actually I prefer ICQ...hmm...I could change friends of course.

 

MSN. And as many have allready said, my friends got me into using it from the beginning...

Now I use it because it is convenient to do so.

 

I like aim the most, it's what i have been using since the beginning.

ICQ because it's the better one of them, and MSN coz most of my friends use it. MSN tends to log out randomly, messages not getting through ("could not send message") and slower transfer speed than ICQ, which always works prefect for me.

 

I use ICQ, but I prefer some two Polish ones I also use. They're largely similar, but I like one of them more for unexplained reasons even though the other one might actually be better.

 

Trillian. I can talk to people using any of the messengers on the list with one program.

 

Gaim. Works everywhere and supports all of these IMs. All-in-one, that's just what I want and need.

 

ICQ because most of the people I know people use it. It's not that great of a reason for being my favorite, but clearly it's the most practical one for my purposes.

 

I use MSN, not because it's good, but my friends hang around there....

 

It really is a shame to have such popular, yet divided Messengers.
As said plenty of times above, i also use MSN because of my friends.

Trillian and Gaim can get all your friends onto one list?

MSN because it is the only one I have ever heard of. Why on earth do you need any of these other ones when you can just use the one that comes free with your PC?

 

Because Harbourboy, you get these sad people who thik they are preventing the inevitable end of the world by not supporting the morally corrupt and evil Microsoft.

(Death to Bill Gates! Woo hoo! Linux!... Get ****ed you stupid penguin thing! lol)

 

Or because theres reasonable evidence that with the more recent versions of Msnger is some rather nasty spyware; as well as the possibilty of it corrupting mp3's (happened to a friend, however it only seems to be happening on XP).
