    I'm playing as a solo mage/priest.

I've managed to win quite a few tough fights by taking advantage of a 'bug'. I hit the opponent with 'Charm Foe', and then assign him to 'guard' my character (click the little shield item in the taskbar, then click my charcter). I then attack the charmed foe.

Result: Charmed foe turns red, and attempts to attack me. However, since he is also guarding me, he attacks HIMSELF!

    Hahahahahahahha.

Really?! I must have played BG2 a thousand times, and never noticed that. However, I haven't even finished BG1, and I've already discovered the bug. I guess it's because you're reliant on charm foe in BG1, whereas in BG2 it's just topping!

Wtf? How is it that they attack themselves? Is it the same animation, which would be swiping through air, with the enemy simply taking damage, or does it look completely unique?

    Awesome find lol.

@TMH - yes I used charm on Glacias in Nalia's Keep, to see if it'd dispel whatever charm was on him, and I clicked "guard me" for no particular reason and he started self-harming :D

    Ha ha, cutting himself!

Sounds like Dobby and Kreacher bashing their heads in.

Ha! Good find Mountain Hare. That's better than charming Silke with Algernon's cloak and forcing her to cast magic missile on herself.

Almost a decade after it's release BG is still revealing interesting aspects to the masses...what a superior crpg.
