Time for a Braveheart topic :D

How many guys and gals at sorcerers like Braveheart?

I think the Mel Gibson really hit the spot with this movie, and it is by no means showing its age(8 years)
I have watched this movie 25-30 times and i will watch it many times in the future.

The movie also have it all: Love, Battle, Tragedy, Action, Funny characters (STEPHEN :D )
and when it is over I feel a great pride even though I am not scottish or of scottish heritage, because William Wallace fought for his country and would rather die, than submit to english rule.
The music is also the best for any movie ever in my humble(yeah right) opinion.

I know some think the movie is racist(I dont know why though) and I think that we can all agree that Longshanks was a Jack@§§.

Bloody fantastic movie. :D That says it all. I especially love the Irish bloke ;) Own it on video, no limit to how many times I can watch it.

Don't get too caught up and try the whole lifting up your kilt thing though, some people take offense. Can't imagine why...

It's indeed a fantastic movie. I've only seen it once, but god damn it's good. One of the best movies I've ever seen.

[IMG] No question, one of Gibson's best. I bought it as soon as I could, and as soon as I am able, I'm getting it on DVD.

I saw this movie today, for the 18th time. So that makes Jesper the only person I know who saw it more often. Congrats!

Just like you said, Lad: Love, Battles, Characters, Intrigues. It's the best film I ever saw. I can almost dream it. And when I go to the toilet for a few minutes, I can still play-back the dialogues when I return.

Jesper, shall we start a Trivia? We ask the questions, others tell the answers... Here is question one: What is the name of Malcom's brother? (Quite difficult, perhaps?)

Edit: Just one more thing, lad. I love the Scottish accent.

I f*@#ing love that movie!!! I got my favorite quote from Braveheart:

Yes, I've heard. He kills men by the hundreds, and if he were here he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.
    ~William Wallace

I like the second part of the movie better though. :rolling:

    Braveheart is a good movie.

    And Sophie Marceau is HOT!!!.

Or at least, in this movie. To be honest, Mel Gibson kinda has a typical character that he always plays. The character that always has an ace-up-his-sleeve.

    Road Warrior, Patriot, Lethal Weapon.

    A good movie.

Both women (Catherine McCormack and Sophie Marceau) have something pure, something natural, soft. Nothing wrong with that.

'Here, you can do it. I'll hold him deuwn -*Tsshh* - *Whack* - That will wake ye up in the mornin'

Just one question: Who played the Judge at the end ('Confess, and you will receive a quick death. Deny, and you must be purified by pain. Do you confess? DO...YOU...CONFESS? Then on the morrow you will see your purification.')? He had a similar role in Joan of Arc...

Seems I can't stop posting about it... :heh:

Have I ever mentioned that one point of a time I used to love all thiongs Scottish? The influence of some very good books... And the movie :)

(You know who I am, and what a pain in the butt I am, and what I complain about, so why bother?)

    LOL! The end of Philip:
'And what would you do in this present situation?' (Feeeeew, *smack*)
    Marvelous!
There are so many quotes that I like! 'The Allmighty sais: Don't change tha subject. Just answerr the f@#$ing question!'

And: There is no sign of who will be next. - Maybe you. Maybe me. It doesnt matter. - I'm serious Robert! - SO AM I!!

And in a regular movie, the big hero would save his love, but here:
You all know the great pains I've always taken never be to strict and rigid with the applications of our laws. And as a consequence; Didn't we learn to live together in relative peace and harmony? And todays lawlessness is how you repay my leniency! Well, you leave me litle choice. An insult on the king's soldiers is the same as an insult on the king himself! *Dzjing* *Slit* Now let the scrapper (this crapper?) come to me...

(Sorry guys... It's about 5am, I drank a lil and I remeber too much of the good things Braveheart has to offer :D )

Edit: Jesper, I didnn't know his name either, that's why I asked it... ;) His name is David Gant and I think he's quite cool. (Found it here via Google, btw)

It is a decent Hollywood spectacle, it knows which buttons to push to instill emotion in the viewers heart and it has all the basic ingredients for a blockbuster movie. I wouldnt call it a peak of movie making but it is rather entertaining.

How did William Wallace die? ;) (It might seems easy, but I think at least some people dont know all the details)

William Wallace was tortured to death by the soldiers of Edward Longshanks. They disembowelled him first and then beheaded him. Whether the film had any veracity in this regard is beyond me.
