[IMG] Tassadar, I'd take your band, but instead of Katherine Thomas I'd put Steve Vai, and instead of Corey Parks I'd put Billy Sheehan.

[IMG] What kind of stuff would they be playing?

Santana or Eric Clapton could play rhythm or lead guitar, but if you count the dearly departed, I'd put in Jimi Hendrix or John Lennon.

If you have a horn section, I'd put in Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Ray Coniff, Charlie Parker, and John Klemmer.

My vote on bass would be Flea. Paul McCartney if I were sentimental, or perhaps Sting.

    No opinion on the percussionists.

    Keyboards - Jerry Lee Lewis.

No one for vocals, though since I'm into a reggae phase right now, I'd vote for Bob Marley. I'd agree on James Hetfield, but I like Axl Rose too (in his early days). Kurt Cobain and Vedder too.

But for guys who cross over several genres, my vote for vocals goes to Sting or Rod Stewart.

extremist, i put the chicks in for their outrageous stage performances as well as their skill (and possibly female flair) =)

otherwise john petrucci would very ably cover lead guitar and cliff burton would rise from the dead to unleash some monstrous bass riffs

No need for an undead Cliff Burton, because you have: Steve Harriss of Iron Maiden, on the bass guitar, finger-picking like crazy.
Then, the vocalist should be...Bruce Dickinson, also of Iron Maiden.
THEN, on the guitar you have...(don't worry, no more Maiden)...Brian May of Queen.
And finally, on the drums, I'd put either the guy who plays drums on Megadeth's Holy Wars (don't know his name, or the name of the album) or Fergal Lawler of Cranberries...

Man, that guy is excellent! I mean, Holy Wars has one of the best intro riffs on the guitar, but the way that guy follows the guitar with drums is amazing...

[IMG] Wow do I feel old (Tal, you need to add a withered, grey haired smiley shaking his head and saying "kids these days")

What's worse is that one artist I am familiar with would probably rather implode than do back up vox for a thrash band (speaking of Johnny Cash ;) )

So, for my two cents ....

    vocals - Kip Winger
    Guitar - Eddie Van Halen
    Bass - Gean Simmons
    back-up Vocals - Peter Cetera
    Drums - Phil Collins

    (and if you think I'm serious ...... then you're dumber than I am ;) :D  )

Hmm my dream line up would be ...

    Lead Guitar: Noodles
    Rythem Guitar: Tom Delongue
    Bass Guitar: Me
    Drums: Travis Barker
Vocals: Freddie Mercury or Dexter Holland

Punky line up but thats what i like...
