I saved the woman who had been kidnapped and the ransom note that I found talks about meeting in front of the Copper Coronet after dark to get the ransom money.

I have the note but I haven't seen anybody in front of the CC waiting for this to happen.

Is there a way to catch this guy Welther?

Did you release her? He only shows up if you don't let the woman go. Check both doors, I don't remember in front of which one he shows up.

Edit: Oh, and Welther isn't a bad guy, he's just trying to free the noblewoman, by paying the ransom.

Oh, ok. Thanks for the help. I did release her so I guess that I won't be seeing him.

My pantaloons are full of weasels.

He's only important if you brought the golden pantaloons with you from Baldur's Gate and intend to play ToB.

Actually I refuse to release the woman, collect the ransom for her (I just love that pantaloon thingie) and then go straight back to the house in the bridge district, fight the few guards that appear in it, then speak to the noblewoman upstairs again and release her, thus receiving both the ransom and the XP for releasing her without this screwing up my reputation. :p
As the "How to be an adventurer" manual says - "Face it, you are actually neutral evil"
