    The short answer is, far too few.

    I'm fluent in only English, but I do have some High School French and can make my way through restaurant menus in Spanish and Italian pretty easily. ;) I also know the manual alphabet and a few random words and phrases of ASL, but nothing of the syntax.

    English, French and Spanish (around here it has become practically bi-lingual now). I can also handle the unintelligle extended vowel sounds that occur after drinking too heavily :D

    I can speak Greek and English. I used to speak German and French (I hate this language) but I haven't used them for many years and now I'm only able to understand some words and phrases and to do a simple conversations like "Wie heisst du?", "Wo wohnst du?" etc. Also, I can understand ancient Greek and some Latin.

    My mothertonge is the language of Chuchichäschtli. Besides I can fluently write and read Standard-German. And I can make myself understood (sometimes) in French and English.

    I'm just a dumb American - I only speak two - English (of course) and Spanish (due to where I live). I'm also working on Old English and Latin, if you want to count those. I've always wanted to tackle French, and then someday Old French and Old Spanish.

    So does the desire to be multilingual count for anything?

    I speak swedish and finnish fluently, english quite fluently, and some far from fluent german. In addition I understand norwegian and danish (kinda comes naturally when you speak swedish, the languages are very much alike).

    Fluently: Dutch, English, German
    Less Fluently: French (ow, and a local dialect called "Limburgs" which sounds really, really stupid, I try to avoid that one)

    [IMG] IIRC (really IF) Taza is a language freak.

    3 languages...
    Fluently (more or less) I speak Slovenian and English.
    I can also communicate (though mostly basic) in German.

    @faded
    There's a dictionary for Klingon on the net somewhere. Just look on google for it.
    I havent learned it even one bit, but my friend has and he says it's really simple. No tenses... :eek:

    Fluent Polish and English. Bilingual, sort of. Most probably, my Polish is still better, but I tend to use English more often. Because of computers and the internet, of course ;) Latin... it's hard to be fluent if you hardly ever speak it. My French used to be advanced and good at that level, maybe even fluent, but I've had a gap of two years. Must do something about it. My ancient Greek wasn't bad and I always had the very top notes in German - that is when I still learnt it :( Too long, too long now. I'll probably give up on modern Greek, but I'm going to keep learning Italian.

    Just one...the language of love. Hahahaha. I wish that was true.
    Tried to learn german once and it ended in disaster. Word of advice, don't use late night RTL2 channel on sky for revision if you do the same.
