Hey...I don't really get the ending. Can you guys explain it a little to me.Starting from the time when Irenicus starts attacking you.

One more thing.During the 'end movie' one of the 'knights of the round table' :) said something about the 'what sword' is getting stronger ??? Or something like that. What is it.

[IMG] Hum, where to start... After you defeat Irenicus in the Tree of Life, he gets "banished" to Hell. Since he has your soul, your divine essence, with him, you (and apparently this force is great enough to pull the rest of your band with you) get sucked into it with him. There you slay him for once and for all, throwing him even further down the drain, although I'm not sure what that final part's supposed to mean. Irenicus thrown in that pit that turns lesser Demons into true Pit Fiends after a millenium or so of agony and torture ?

Anyway, afterwards, those cloaked figures sitting around a "table of Bhaal" must be some sort of evil cult, according to me. Zhents would come to mind, although they're actually followers of Bane, isn't it ? (or Cyric these days) Maybe other Bhaalspawns ? Who knows, we probably won't find that out for sure before BG3.

And the "what sword" you're refering to, I thought they said "Gorion's ward", being the main character. You were close though :D

Heh, I though they were the House sub-commitee on ethics. Anyway, I don't think they were Cowled Wizards. They aren't enough of a threat to you at this point(just judging from how weak most were in the game) to pattern the sequal after. I expect a much more ominous force, like a House sub-commitee :)

I've read at a few places that says that Baldur's Gate 2 has a very special ending.

So what's so special about that ?

Cyric's symbol was on the table.

Cyric's symbol.. he has the same then Bhaal then ? That's a new one for me. My vote'd still go to a band of fellow Bhaalspawns. After all, the Harpers seemed very familiar with your "nature", which tells me that you're definetly not the only one who has learned about his legacy. I guess it's a sort of Highlander-story, There Can Be Only One and such, meaning that the last surviving Bhaalspawn'll have so much of his/her father's divine power within him/her that (s)he simply becomes the new Lord/Lady of Murder.

The ending is special simply because it makes a nice introduction for BG3, is all :)

Gorion was your mentor/teacher/fosterfather/whatever. He raised you during your youth in Candlekeep, but got slain by your foul halfbrother Sarevok in the very begin of BG1.

i dont think they are setting up a bg3, more like an expansion... (maybe a 2 cd one for once?) (that would rock) anyway, unless you have a first person shooter going on, making a 3rd sequal will kill the series no matter what you do, but then again... im not the marketing manager of the game...

    What about Warcraft 3?

But in any case, I *believe* that Neverwinter Nights is going to be a direct sequal. A good 2 CD BG game is Icewind Dale.

And yeah, that's Bhaal's symbol on the round table. The same symbol that appears when you die, and the same symbol that's on the original BG box, and the symbol that appears during the ending video of BG!

[IMG] NWN will have nothing to do with BG1 or 2, or their expansions. It's something completely different.
As far as I remember, the story revolves around you stopping a plague...

warcraft is completly differny style game, its more of a battle control type game where you make units and kill the other guys base, bg2 is a full rpg stuck with 1 main character and get to pick up more as you go along..

I always thought that they could make a 3rd BG as long as they could come up with some creative way of knocking your experience down. It would probably have to be something massive and epic, and damn well should be after what the pc has gone through. Anyway, if they didn't, the characters powers would start to get quite ridiculous, the prospect of which would problably kill and chance for a sequal otherwise.

well Final Fantasy is never a continuation with the same main character, its always a change, starting from low levels and such. Never the same story line, never the same NPCs, and thats the reason its so anticipated... all it does is keep the same era.
