[IMG] Does anyone know how to transfer my BGII saved game to a different pc. Do I need the entire 'save' folder to be copied into the 'BlackIsle' > 'BGII-SoA' directory? Or is there more to it? I just hate to lose 70+ days worth of game play!!

    Thanks

try going to the game directories saved game folder and copying the save to a floppy. when you get to the other computer you just take it from the floppy and put it in the same directory it came from...

Thats what I figured, just wondered if anyone had in fact done that before, and if it worked.

    Thanks!

works perfectly, and it's a great defense against any number of bizzare problems. (very good idea to put saves on floppy before installing a patch or fix...nothing worse than starting all over from the dungeon)

[IMG] Aha, but it doesn't work like a charm. I wouldn't doubt that putting your save games on a floppy, or more likely a cd (big file) works fine when just adding a 'fix' or patch.

I bought a new pc and installed BGII and copyed the 'save' folder from my old pc into the BGII folder on my new pc and got this error when I tryed to access the "load game" menu: "An assertion failed in InfScreenLoad.ccp at line number 1415"

Ive since checked all of the fixes at www.interplay.com/support/ with not luck. There's a list of "assertion failed" probs but not line 1415.

I'll donate Yoshimos heart to any who can help, it's getting blood stains on my bag of holding anyhow!

    Thanks in advance,

    Anduril

It's not necesarry to copy the whole map, just open the map "Save" and choose the right save game you need..... NOTICE: Before the name of the Save, there's a number. (00000, 00001 etc) Whern copying the savegame to the other computer, be carefull that it has a number that's not in the savegame yet and otherwise change it.

[IMG] If I remember correctly, there are two more folders where BG2 sometimes saves the game temporarily:
    TEMP
    TEMPSAVE

So, if you're moving SAVE, you should check if anything is in these folders too!

Anduril, If you copied the entire save folder and moved it to the new PC, that is your problem. You will have two save folders in the BG2 directory. Only copy the contents of the save folder and put them into the save folder on the new PC.
